This weather suits me just dandy
We have just done a whistle stop tour of the moors
Went to Holmfirth home of Nora Batty then right up to Holme Moss my word what a view!!
Now at the Yorkshire Bridge Inn waiting for my plough mans lunch
We are next to lady bowers lake which is truly stunning
Julie has some great pics to show when we get back

Nope not cheaper Kev! €2 for a pint of mythos. I don't drink but OH was very happy with it. Food was very cheap too. Went self catering for a week with £500 spends for both of us. Worked out we had €80 per day to spend, ate every meal out and still had money for gifts and a little came home too. Agios Georgios is the place to be lol

I have some very happy memories of Yorkshire. Was on secondment in the 70s... was taken, by my manager at the time,  to Batley Variety Club to a live Cliff Richard show... with 'chicken in the basket' at the interval. Happy, happy days!

Also had to deliver a van load of cheese to Wakefield Prison the next day!

I can't wait to go back there. I want to take Mr Dolly up for a few days. We might stay at this place. Julie and I had a lovely lunch tree yesterday. It is right by the Lady Bowers Reservoir

Dolly, there is nowhere better than this country for holidays or anything else, providing you get decent weather.

Even without the weather considerations, there are still places of historic interest that you would not want to miss.

Totally agree Raff. I have done France top to bottom. Belgium, Holland,Corfu, Barbados, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. So over world travel now. I want to spend my time visiting as much as I can of this great country. I have decided that incorporating that desire with going to vape meets all over will not only get me to lots of places but also give me a chance to meet the local people there too.

That looks lovely. So sad we didn't get time to go the other places you mentioned, but I will have a look for places to stay over that way too.
