I Got a riva 510 in the post today. Refilling carts are a nightmare already, gave the cartomiser a go, jesus it got very hot! Is this normal?? Barely any vapour produced and a horrid taste : / hmmm

The carto should only get really hot if you have not put enough liquid in it. You should be able to get a good 20 drops in a standard cartomiser (Boge type). Always let them rest a bit to soak it in as well.
To refill your carts just drip 9/10 drops onto the foam filling until it looks like a slush puppy.
Take your time with it and it will come good.

Ah I defo didnt put enough in then... I cant see any foam in it though, they are the boge ones you speak of

If it has a soft plastic top in it, just carefully lift it out (with a fork or similar) and you should then see the filler.
Just drip liquid slowly around the edges (so that it does not go down the centre tube) and let each few drops soak in.
Repeat until full, let it rest for a while and the vape away.
If you still get a burnt taste, the cartomiser may be a dud or have been damaged when you burnt it dry but, hopefully all will be well.

Theres only a small hole each each of which i cant see any filler down either? I filled the plastic cover up halfway then pushed the cartomiser into it to soak it up. I then dripped 10 ish drops down the battery end, not getting as hot but vapour is naf : / sorry if im being stupid
