Since getting my X8 I've used LR Boges. Today I had to change the carto as I was getting a burnt taste after less than 2 days. Not sure what caused it, probably something burning I picked a new carto out of the box and it was SR Boge as I ordered a couple to try out. Relative silence compared to the rattlesnake that was the LR. Time will tell how I get on with it. Some say that SR cartos give a slightly improved flavour and tend to last a touch longer than LR but I've got little experience to form my own opinion on this. Which cartos do you favour and why?

If you're using VV then SR cartos are fine as you can up the voltage. On a mechanical mod then LR Cartos shouldn't burn if kept wet. If in a tank, every now and then take the tank off the mod, hold your finger over the connector end and take a couple of puffs, you should see a few air bubbles, this shows that your forcing juice into the carto

I've forgotten most of my GCSE physics Every now and then I do a few blank draws and sometimes see a few bubbles pop out of the punched hole.

Little guide i wrote up once, it's quite old though: For carto's i always used: www.vapeescape.co.uk/boge-pre-punched-cartomisers-%285%29~486Non punched carto’s i would use these in silver: www.vapeescape.co.uk/boge-510-standard-resistance-%285%29~145I would punch them 1 x 2mm hole (No bigger and No smaller), a 2mm hole should accommodate most thickness of juices. Once the carto is punched i would fill them using the condom method and leave to rest for 20-30 mins, once rested make sure there is no flooding, good idea is to vape the carto for a couple of seconds on it's own to make sure all is fine. 1: This applies to tanks with a filling hole at the top: If the carto is fine and good to go fit it into the tank and screw tank lid on (only fill tank with the hole provided on top of the cap). 2: This applies to tanks without a filling hole at the top: If the carto is fine and good to go fit it into the tank too about 70% in so there is just enough room at the top too fill the juice into tank (Recommend to use a needle cap filler or syringe). Fill tank too around 60-70%, i prefer 60%, i tend to find the more you fill it the more chance of flooding (think it is to do with pressure). Leave to rest in the tank for awhile to let the carto adjust to it and then try it out. You can also before starting to use it is do the dry vaping, by blocking the bottom of the carto hole (when it's in the tank) vape until you see no more bubbles come out of the punched hole, like this video here: How to prime and fill a DCT (dual coil Cartomizer tank) Another video on tanks here: The other reason i fill to around 60% is because IF it does feel like it is flooding you can tilt the tank and vape only the juice from the carto which will empty the extra juice in the carto, if the tank was 100% full you could not do this because there is no empty room left so it will just keep pulling in more juice from the tank. Gotta just remember that the Carto is like a submarine in water and all that juice is wanting to get in, so when vaping with a tank it's best not to fast vape continuously as you will be pulling in loads of juice too much and too often. Hope some of this helps.

This is where I get a bit lost. In the example given in that link, 6.45W can be achieved by a lower resistance coil at lower volts and also by a higher resistance coil at higher volts. I would have thought that the more volts you're needing, the quicker the battery will drain. Somebody asked a similar question in that thread but the answer didn't make sense (to me!) Now I think I'm missing part of an equation, current, and all I remember from physics is V=IR!!

V=IR, so if v=4, r=3, i=(4/3)=1.33 Power (W) =I^2 R or IV, so W=4x1.33=5.3 watts (rough numbers, no calculator ) but, if v=5, 5=3i, i=5/3, = 1.66 the higher the current draw, the quicker the battery drains. The mAh or milliAmphours is the capacity of the battery, so at a drawn current of 1.66A will empty the battery faster than 1.33 amps
