Ideas for cases (sort of)

Ok, so I generally wander about the place with an 1100mah ego or Riva with some clearo or another on the end of it, in a lanyard round my neck. Since it has been very cold up until recently this has been fine, the robofag has mostly then been stuffed into either a waistcoat or jacket or shirt pocket to stop it flapping about on the end of the string.
However now it is warm at last, it is annoying, and there is no pocket conveniently situated next to it.

So what I am thinking, is some sort of tube, with a clip on the side (like on a pen lid) that I can jam into my pocket (confirmed wearer of cargo trousers/shorts, all the time) and not have to rummage around in there to find (lot of crap in my pockets). preferably big enough to take the whole thing in it's lanyard, so I can stick it back round my neck if I am somewhere settled and happy.

Anyone reclaimed something else for this sort of use? I was going to use a torch belt thing, but can't wear belts, as I am allergic to cheap metal against my skin.

I use a cigar tube lined with felt for my Ego/Riva batteries with an evod on top for at work. It is holding up well to bumps and drops.

I'm new to all this and wondered what I could put mine in.
I'm female so usually have a bag, but didn't want to just throw it in, incase it got damaged , leaked ,or I couldn't find it ( ladies will understand that bit )
I looked around all the pound shops, hardware shops etc for something, anything.
Denture tablets was the best thing I could find, I could have made the tube look pretty with something but really it was too big.
I have a friend who used to smoke cigars and he has kept the tubes from posher ones.
He had a tube which fits my ego/ce5 perfectly, it just slots in and you pop the top on to keep it secure.
There's no clip, but this could maybe help others who want to put it in a bag or pocket.

possibly, also i was hoping to keep it covered somehow, and a bit protected cos generally I am loading and unloading cars with amps and speakers and instruments and stuff, and things get knocked and fall out and stuff. But this is an interesting thing.
