How often to refill Cartos on a 510 cigalike?

I am not enjoying my 510 type ecig.  I think it must run out of juice and start tasting grim.

The thing is i notice on sites they say a carto is the equivalent of loads of fags, i seem to get very little use from a freshly filled carto and then it starts tasting weird again.  I would estimate i'm getting maybe the equivilant of 10 fags from one.

Should i be topping it up most days?

You will definitely need to top a carto up at least once a day if not more. The claims made by cig-alike companies for the number of fags equivalent are total bulls**t

Its a hard one to answer. It depends on how long the inhale is and how much your vaping per day. When I was using carto's, I was constantly filling them up. its a real pain. To get the equivalent to 10 fags is amazing. I was getting between 3 and 4 and that was on a good day.
Have you not look into getting something maybe better than a cigalike. There is better alternatives out there.

I do have a variable voltage tank system which is loads better, but like having the small 510 one for certain circumstances, like driving, walking about town etc

I get about the equivalent of 7 to 10 cigs if I vape it like I would smoke a real cigarette. Best way I can describe it is if you vape it like you would a cigar or pipe then it does not last long at all. I refill them as soon as the vapor started to fall off or sooner. I actually still love my cigalikes for when out and about. Just picked one up just now and had a few puffs - Oh that is good, just like having a real cig which is actually why I still use them. When I feel like a real fag I reach for my 'nucig' battery with a skycig refilled cartridge. It might be because I have 18mg in them where my tanks have 12mg. I am actually getting more vapour form a cigalike than I do from a Vivi NoVa atomiser used for a while.

Have you tried filling the carto this way This is the way i fill up my carto before i use them which is not very often these days

Cartos come in many sizes, just find bigger ones and they will have more liquid capacity.
You can get ones where you can see the liquid level so know when to refill, like the bud, M3 or Vision nano attys.

If it's a decent 510 mini with proper cartomisers, you'll not see 10 cigs worth.

However, if it's a branded look-a-like, chances are it'll have a high resistance carto which could potentially get to 20 or more.

....it always makes me laugh (in a rather ironic way); it would be quite easy to make a mini that did 400 puffs, trouble is the vapour would be almost non-existent and by using so little liquid it would not provide much nicotine satisfaction.
That's what winds me up about so many of the brands....they "say" it's 400 puffs AND it will provide 40-cigs of nicotine. You can't have both.

if you are using a mini 510 with boges, keep them topped up....and enjoy....

Since making the thread and getting advice i am now adding a few drops to the cartos maybe once or twice a day and its a revelation. Tastes much better.

But i can see me getting through a lot more juice, I think i'm been too conservative up until now.

Yes.
