I got one of these (@ 1.8 resistance) this morning. It's been spitting through the drip tip when I push the battery button and I have a feeling it's about to burn out after four hours as it doesn't seem too lively now. Is it likely to be just a dodgy wick/burner (I got spares for it), or is it something to do with it being lower resistance please? Or have I just bought the wrong kit? V3 rainbow rebuild able

The Vision V3's are great little clearos so you haven't bought the wrong kit and 1.8 should be perfect, i get the same with my nova every now and then so nothing to worry about. Seeing as you have spares i would put a new head on it and give the other head a good cleaning.

I haven't tried the 1.8 myself, but have heard that you shouldn't use anything below 2ohms on a Riva battery.
Others will be along shortly to tell you of their experiences.

Spot on Zeldamum. It doesn't say that on the page for the Rainbows or the Riva starter kit, but it's on the page for the batteries themselves (on Vapeescape). I've just sent for some 2.4 heads - can't see why I can't just swap out the 1.8 wicks that came with them?

You got it thingonaswing just unscrew the 1.8 and screw on the 2.4. I forgot the riva batteries are slightly different to the ego batteries.

Coils can tend to "spit" when they're new, its just bubbles of steam bursting on the first few vapes. They then tend to quieten down. I have had a few Riva batteries in my time and have used 1.8 ohm heads on them with no problems, I found the vape better for me (warmer, more vapour) than the 2.4 oh coils. But as we keep on saying what's right for some may not be for others. You will now be able to try them both and see which you prefer.

I've just emailed Vapeescape and apparently the 1.8s are fine with the new Riva batteries. It just feels a bit 'dead', so I'll try a 2.4 when they arrive and see if it makes any difference.

I use 1.8 heads on my Riva battery. The only possible issue is that if you got a "super-low" head (say a 1.6) on a freshly charged battery, you might enter the danger zone.... However, more often than not, they are comfortably over 2.0ohms anyway. Spitting and hissing is GOOD! as long as it's not the wife.....

The 2.4 will be disappointing most probably... I'd expect a new head to be rather lively and then calm down a bit anyway. Could be just the way of things....

I've just tried one of the other new Clearos (I got three) and it's perfect, so it looks like a dodgy head probably. Jason at Vapeescape - who seems a really nice lad - says he'll sort it out when I put my next order in. Which may not be too long ... I opened the RY4 I got last week today and it's absolutely DIVINE :-)
