I honestly have tried to have tidy wires but some things the computer desk does not show for instance is the monitor moves freely on a 360 degree platform. I live in shared accommodation so only one room is basically my nest and lab. The monitor turns round as this is what the TV box is plugged into hence I can watch TV from the bed (and control the PC if needed through my tablet).

My room has a great deal of cabling running all over the place due to a large quantity of consumer electronics cross linked (and I prefer cable connections to wireless for reliability) and what you see is just the surface stuff not hidden away. The minilab is in a state I'll admit that.

Plus when I had as you called it messy desk was a lot easier to find stuff, sitting here now feels strange and uncomfortable (bit like robbys picture , but that's another whole thread  )
