So, after arranging and paying for guaranteed saturday delivery on an item, waited in all day, never arrived. Got the tracking number today from the vendor, stuck in RM tracking service, and they are claiming to have attempted a delivery, and I now need to take my non existent missed delivery card to retrieve it! What a bunch of jokers, no one knocked, no one called, no card left - I live on top of a shop, who said they hadn't seen any RM delivery guys coming to mine, or into the shop either. My feeling is that as my flat is up some stairs, whoever was supposed to be delivering it just couldnt be arsed or couldnt see the place immediately so just didnt bother. Dunno what I am supposed to do now, as I have no missed delivery card to claim the item with. Sorry - just needed to vent. Bloody RM wankers.

Yeah I dunno where they get some of their staff from. Where I am we had a series of postman who didn't seem to know what a doorbell was for, and indeed seemed to think you'd answer the door by some psychic ability and not knock loud enough either. The first you'd know a parcel was incoming would be when heading out and find a red card. We have a new young one now who has worked out the doorbell thing already.

A lot of them are flamin hopeless, they need to learn to do the job properly. Sometimes i've caught the buggers just shoving the "attempted delivery" through without even knocking, what is it??? don't they know how to knock or ring a doorbell these days??? Hesta, he could have "attempted delivery" at the wrong address?? that happened to me a while back , luckily the nice gent from the wrong address brought the stupid card round to me. Should have gone to specsavers

Hope he hasn't attempted delivery at the wrong address! There isn't anyone around here I speak to, and I don't want them collecting my provari 'on my behalf' Already put a complaint in to RM, they have no-one, anywhere to speak to by phone on a sunday, what a wonderful postal service we have! Also noticed they 'attempted delivery' before 12.10 (their specified time - before 12.10) no doubt in order to keep their 'guarantee' of deliving before 1pm!

So, the saga continues. I went to the sorting office this morning, to be told by staff there that I am unable to claim the parcel without the card. The person in there was standing holding my parcel, and refused to give it to me! Treated like a complete idiot - told basically it was my fault if I couldnt find the card. The staff just kept talking over me, saying that I was getting nothing without a card, nothing without a card, nothing without a card over and over! I asked to speak to a manager, told there was no manager to speak to and even if there was, I would still not be getting my parcel! I asked them not to hand it over to anyone other than me, regardless of them having a card - they said that they would need the card! Idiots, bloody idiots. I told them that their postie was a liar, as they kept telling me that as he had said he had attempted delivery, that he must have done!
On return home, called the number I was given for customer services, and made a complaint, I was told by the guy on the phone that there has to be a manager present at all times at the sorting offices, so I was lied to about this as well! I will say though that the guy on the phone was very helpful, and said he would be contacting the office to discuss both the postie not leaving a card, and the attitude of the staff there. The helpfulness of this guy - although welcome - was likely influenced by the fact that they are running a survey about customer service at the moment on the customer service line.
So, now I have had to go with the only option which is redelivery, they said it was too late to try again today (9am) and would I like them to try again tomorrow or on Saturday! I said try again tomorrow, but I wont be in! They said this was the best option, as I would get a card to collect it 24 hrs later! Absolute joke, through and through!#
I could understand them not giving my parcel out to someone without extensive proof of who they are, but I was standing there with my passport, drivers license, 3 utility bills and my polling card!
Argh! Sorry for ranting, really was looking forward to my new toy, but now this has soured the whole experience for me!

hestaIf you turn up with enough ID (like you have), you should get the parcel even without the card - what if you saw it come through & the dog ate it? You know the parcel is there - they know who you are - YOU DON'T NEED THE CARD. I would complain to the customer services to the highest extent, demanding full refund and compensation - threaten them with small claims court W!!Good Luck, mate.

I must be lucky with my postie. Always knocks if it is a package hands it to me with a chat too. If I am not in he slides it in the post box or hides it somewhere for me. If it is supposed to be signed for and I am nt in he signs it for me and leaves it somewhere safe.

I agree that they should have given it to me, thats why I turned up with so much ID with me! My usual postie is great as well, thats what confuses me! They asked if my address was difficult to get to, I pointed out that I had never had any issues with delivery before from RM or elsewhere, I even had delivery from a company that has never bought me anything on that same day (Saturday) with no issues. Just now (within the last 30 mins), I just recieved the batteries that I ordered (2nd class) on the same day as I ordered the provari! I did point out to the very unhelpful sorting office staff, how could I trust a redelivery when the initial delivery guy couldn't even be arsed to knock on my door - their answer was 'well, it might be someone different this time' !!!! Bar stewards! Well, I have now used up my only free morning this week trying to sort this out, as well as one day of my weekend. Now I have to go to work for the rest of the day and the rest of the week - thanks again royal mail! Also, I must point out that the vendor has been great with communication througout this - I won't mention the name as I don't want seach engines throwing up a thread like this when searching for their name

My posties, both here and my old address, have just shoved recorded/signed for items through the letterbox without ringing the doorbell or knocking on numerous occasions. I know, cos I work from home, and I'm in all day every day during the week.
We have received mail for someone living at the same number 2 streets away, presumably they've also had ours. This could be all kinds of identity-stealing kit and sensitive information. I complained many, many times and was just fobbed off with an apology and promises of it never happening again. Which it promptly did.
We had a redirect going for the last 3 months after we moved, the postie recently knocked on (a miracle in itself), and handed me a pile of redirected mail. Unfortunately, it was for someone with the same surname and house number, but wrong street and postcode. The postie was absolutely flabberghasted when I handed it him back, stared at it for about 2 minutes in complete astonishment, and looked at me like it was my fault when the evidence was literally staring him in the face.
I give up. RM couldn't find their arses with an atlas.
