Anybody else watching The Returned on Channel 4?

Hmm, I don't know about that. This isn't my video, btw. When I saw it, I got hold of the genuine rental versions from LoveFilm, so I assume I was watching a true version. The dialogue really was that fast. The bulk of the story is told by a single narrator in a constant monologue at breakneck speed from beginning to end.

The only thing I can fault is the translation. Some of it could have been rendered into English more clearly, to make the task of reading it more fluid.

American versions are crap for this film.

I don't mind a mix where subs are used for parts of the film, if I think it was improving the film having foriegn parts. Some producers/directors do this just for the arty farty sake of it these days though. I will certainly swerve a film that is all foreign and subs though. I don't need to know about all the great films I am missing either, if there isn't enough in English then so be it..
