I received my pack of 10 Evods from FT this morning. Thought I would give the first one a go. Put some of my homemade chocolate bounty bar juice in it which I have been vaping in another Evods for days now. Put it on my spinner took a big draw and omg!! I nearly choked and was then sick. It was the most revolting burnt taste. On top of that the metal bit where the spinner meets the evod went very very hot! What on earth would cause that?

Sounds like the coil was a lower resistance than was stated then if it has already burnt the wick on your standard voltage. Either that or there is a terrible short in the coil, might also explain the base getting a bit hot.

Don't know whether to put another coil in this one or try a different evod from the pack. Either way I'm hesitant.

Yep, deffo sounds like a dodgy coil, frazzled your wick If it was me and they are brand new i would soak them all in warm soapy water for 2hrs and then rinse then leave to dry then use, i never use anything straight out the box straight away, they always have a icky taste. Another tip before using take the top part off and plug the base onto your spinner and give about 3-4 dry burns to get rid of any residue from the wick/coil.

Thanks Hun. I will go soak all the others now. Luckily I ordered ten replacement heads alongside the Evods, so have plenty of backups. Trust me to pick out a dud one first go!!

I'm glad (in a way) that it's not just me that has this problem - I find many clearos give a foul taste when they're new - I think it must have something to do with a residue left during manufacture, cos it seems to clear after a while - I just try not to inhale anything until the yucky taste has gone. Hope you feel better!

Thanks Hun. I will go soak all the others now. Don't forget this bit "3-4 dry burns to get rid of any residue from the wick/coil" When you do it sniff up, you will get what i mean by residue, nasty smell that dies away the more you do it, better for the smell to be on the outside rather than inside your Evod

Also, leave it a minute or so after filling, so that the wick soaks up some of the juice & gets nice & wet.
