Did not read the entire thread, but the spinner has two levels of charging. Initially the light stays on and then it goes off but the spinner continues to to finish charging. It charges like a CC-CV cycle.
Just leave it in there till the light turns green on the charger and do not worry about what the battery button LED is doing.
