siffy - I had the same palpitations after giving up smoking, and it turned out that I had HIGH Blood Pressure, and am now on medication for it. One nurse asked about smoking and I said I had given up tobacco and was vaping, and she said it often happens that all the nasties in tobacco smoke evens out conditions which makes them much harder to diagnose; me vaping was good because it brought these symptoms to the surface and everything's now fine. I would agree with the posts above ^^^ about drinking more water, and upping the nic levels until you are comfortable. At the end of the day though, vaping is much safer than tobacco for you, so don't fret unduly about the amount of juice you go through, it's much less harmful than tobacco smoke! It just shows what tobacco smoke is masking, doesn't it? I'm glad I started vaping too, got me off the cigs and highlighted issues that needed dealing with, best thing I've ever done. I'm glad that you're fine now and as you say it could be due to high BP, always best to get checked out Twisty and not stupidly wait 10 months like I did, the fool that I am. I forgot to mention the water, yes lots! Even with my low end BP and pots syndrome that's the one thing I've changed and it has helped lots.

Have you considered no flavour e liquid?
I only suggest this as I went down that route towards the end. It depends what your needs are I suppose? If your need it to just replicate the sensation of say a Silk cut then no flavour does the job, you know-replicating a near as dammit ciggy experience. However if you are so far removed from wanting the ciggy experience then this would likely not be the way to go.
I can understand your frustration though but am sure you'll find a way round it.

Hi TwistyCan I first say I am not a doctor saying you are in the same boat as me. I saw this and the exact same thing happened to me so I thought I'd just share. Please bear in mind I quit nicotine 6 months ago and stopped vaping no nicotine 2 weeks later, so what I'm sharing happened during and after using nicotine. Quitters Flu: My doctor explained that quitters flu can be down to the lack of both harmane and norharmane which are relased in the tobacco smoke. They act as an anti depressant so for some, like me, they are self medicating without even knowing. He explained that the cold turkey from tobacco smoke (take nicotine out of the mix at this point) is the same for some people going cold turkey from anti depressants, hemce the dreadful flu symptoms feelings. I don't know if you feel really different?, low mood and fatigue? If so have a chat with the doctor. It doesn't mean you need meds (I was offered low dose) as I've managed to get round it with the help of a book The Chimp Paradox by Steve Peters. The Racing Heart: The same happened to me during and after stopping vaping so I knew it couldn't be the nicotine so finally accepted something was amiss and got help. Have you had your blood pressure and heart rate tested recently? If so was it low? Mine was low on a check up in October but it was a different doctor who just said "oh it's very low, but you're ok aren't you?" Turns out that smok7ng was artificially increasing my blood pressure and heart rate to normal.... without it, well.... dreadful to be honest. He explained my heart palpitations are due to that, it's called bradycardia. Am having to be checked each month and if I get any worse off to the heart specialist. It's no different now to when I was vaping but am mentality better as I understand what's been going on for the last 10 months. So..... it could be nicotine that's causing it for you, who knows? Or you could have a similar bio chemistry to me and maybe need to have a chat with the doctor. I'm sorry this is so long but when I saw this post it sounded very simular to my experience. Let us know how you get on.

Hi afk40, as above. If you are still craving tobacco, then up the MG Level. As to going zero nic, well the last time I stopped smoking, I did so using NRT Gum. After I had stopped using that as well and was completely nic free, I carried a couple of NRT Gum pieces around in my pocket for over a year because I was aware of passed failures to stop, until eventually leaving them at home as well. I had cracked it. I was no longer addicted to nicotine. Bully for me!!! Wrong! Almost 18 months to the day and a problem arose which had me craving nicotine big time. I was on holiday in Northern Ireland, far far away from my cache of NRT Gum, no chemist to be seen but a ciggie shop across the road. Well the rest was history. I would hate to see any vaper go back on the fags, so beware of Nicotine. It is NOT just a habit forming drug. Breaking the habit of using it is NOT the whole answer to getting away from it forever. Just because you can stop using it for a few days, months, longer, always be aware that it will bite you in the ass when you least expect it to and when you start to think that this time you have really cracked it. I will be aware, thank you. Also there is the other side of the coin like most of my relatives who have not smoked for 30 years or most resent 10, or had it bite their ass, so am thinking/hoping I have their genes. But again thank you for your view on this.

siffy thought I should post on here just so that people don't think we deserted you. Innokin Close was a community, ( newbies, look up the daydream thread in blogs ) , and we have helped each other through thick and thin. You know how proud of you we all are , cos we told you already. This was always your aim from day one, to be smoke and nicotine free, and don't you worry girl, the rest of the residents have their sticks ready to bash you with when you falter. We have helped each and then some mate, haven't we? As sammy13 says we have had a 4 way daily email going, everyday...have loved it. Will go to the email now..lol...

I have too much nic base to just stop siffy. Now I know how long it lasts I should have stuck to buying just the one litre and not two. I don't think you'd have too much trouble finding it a new home (if you really wanted to)
Well done siffy - just keep that PV handy, so you don't need to resort to stinkies in times of need. Just about to get a mix on, so the question is, should I do some science (the Eurocrats, mhra, BMA, etc dont need to!) and do a 0mg mix, to see what happens ... ... ... As lobeydosser said, please don't disappear from our lives, but keep popping in to let us know how your doing, and to see how we're all doing I will keep a fully charged battery and zero liquid ready..no fear..lol I have no doubt in times of pure desperation a good old suck on my PV will be most welcome. Am just over joyed, tbh, that it is now that I would reach for and not a cigarette. Feels like a release from a mental prison, you know. I will stick around too just incase anyone needs someone to bounce off if they are worried about going zero. Try a zero Fred...I dare ya.....lol

Well done siffy. And as you say, everybody is different. Perhaps nicotine effects different people, different ways. I tried to stop smoking many times in the 15 years before I changed to vaping and found the stopping bit the easy part, with the aid of various NRT products. It was the staying stopped part that was impossible. Nicotine, for me, is a strange chemical. Stopping using it is simple. However, when I stopped and when something happens in my life and that something triggers a craving for nicotine, and this happened eventually, every single time, nothing but nothing else would do but to have a fag. I would have trampled anyone to death if they had got between me and that nicotine fix. I have now been vaping for 18 months and during that time have been through some seriously upsetting times, but vaping has seen me through with a clear head and I have handled all of the problems. However a few months ago I too tried to cut down on my MG levels. Oh not a lot, but reduced them from 24mg to 20mg and within a week I was dreaming and then craving cigarettes. As soon as I started vaping on some 24mg that I still had, both the dreams and the cravings disappeared. Clearly 24mg is my vape and there I will stay. Many folks stop smoking using NRT products but fewer than 5% are still off smoking two years down the line. So, I say, good luck to all of you who are cutting down your MG Levels, but do us all a huge favour! Come back two years from now and tell us how you are doing. That will be the proof of the pudding!!! To be fair though many are still maybe romancing the idea of an actual cigarette, not nicotine in it's own right? By that I mean natural nicotine and not the freebase shite in cigarettes. I am only speculating of course but at least now people can get that endorphin rush (deep in breath, hold, deep out breath) from zero nicotine liquid if it gives them comfort. I will, as you say, come back and let you know how I am doing of course.

Well I can see what you mean..lol I think that's what put the brakes on me buying the eRoll you know, because deep down I knew I was heading to zero and putting the PV away. Mind you I still spent the money..lol Clarins had a buy 2 items get 3 (from a choice of 10 products) free offer, with my name written all over it....wink.... At least you have mor to spend on the things you want now and can treat yourself I don't think I will give up vaping though as I do enjoy it most of the time. However my pv isn't glued to my hand like it was in the early days. I know what you mean..... I might find the actual habit the hardest part to break? What I have loved about vaping (although I didn't realise it at the time) is has helped me sort things out in manageable sections. Dealt with the chemicals first...got the nicotine part done with, just the habit to do then done. Like I say I'm not too ashamed to use a cut down straw if need be...lol...

I was wondering if any one is vaping without any nicotine in there home made juices & if so how are you getting on & do it make any difference to your coils & wicks. Thanks. I am now zero nicotine and haven't noticed it makes any difference to my wicks tbh. That said I automatically rinse then dry burn them every 3rd fill anyway. Hope this helps.
