Eko-wool & Ribbon Wire...........

Had some of both arrive today, as I wanted to try them out.........I've got 1mm & 2mm Ekowool & 0.3mm ( hopefully the equivalent of 0.2 kanthal) ribbon wire.........Any do's & dont's & how to's much appreciated, before I charge forth like a bull in a china shop..............

Hi @ chrisjw.

Before you make up the coil on the ekowool. FLAME IT, use a blowtorch if you have one, get it "white" hot.

Burns off any bits and stiffens the wick.

I found it really does improve the `flavour` after doing this.

Don`t forget to flame your wire also, this takes out the springiness in the wire, and also IMHO helps with flavour.

Ekowool IMHO out performs the normal silica materials.

Try it Chris, you will be surprised.

Only thing i could add is keep the wire flat on the wick but that's obvious.
