HELP!! techy help please....

Techy help please......I haven't been able to get into my emails for a few days now. A panel comes up saying:

WINDOWS LIVE MAIL
YOU ARE CURRENTLY WORKING OFFLINE WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO ONLINE NOW Yes/No

I click the YES - but nothing happens - I can see my emails behind it. I can pull the Windows Live Mail panel out of the way but cannot click on anything.

I can even get rid of the 'panel' by clicking NO but cannot do anything else.

HELP PLEASE But be gentle with me 'cos I'm a very oldie!!! MMa

Along the top, do you have an icon that looks like a globe with a red cross on it? (second from the right, next to "sign in") Try clicking that.

Greigster - thanks for trying to help me but it is 'doing my 'ead in' so I have given up. I have managed to contact my techy man who will come tomorrow. He says he's had another client with similar problem. He tried to help me on the phone but I'm useless so he will call tomorrow!!

I did try what you suggested but I could not get rid of that small panel thingie - not even if I shut down and started again!!

Ignore the Mail program Fran.

Instead click on 'File' in Internet Explorer (Top left menu) and from the drop-down menu click 'Work Online'.

Then when you go back to Live Mail it should be back online.

Thank you Jason - my techy man came this morning - took him about three minutes - all done!!! And he didn't charge me - bless him.
I think he felt sorry for this nutty ole woman!!!
But he did say he's had several call outs of the same thing so he knew what he was doing. MMa

I'll try sending you another one now Jason. But I get those little panels again asking 'do you want to go online' I click Yes but nothing happens. Right I'll try what Jason suggested......................


11.31 Well I have recieved a lot of incoming mails from yesterday now but not sure if my outgoing are working. I will try sending one to my other email addy...........................

I have to go our shortly - I was able to get into my bank account okay.
