Well I'm in a bit of a quandary, I've had my Tornado T for a while now and feel its time to upgrade. So, I've done a fair bit of research and I've ended up more confused than when I started! I've looked at loads of different websites, watched tons of video reviews and I'm not sure where I should be going next. Maybe my choices of upgrade are a step too far? I've listed below my favourites performance and looks wise, I like these a lot. I'm hoping the wise forum gurus will point me in the right direction and maybe even give me better options? I like the idea of vv/vw but I think I prefer something simpler(less to go wrong), let me know the benefits and pitfalls of my choices.
1. Sigelei ZMax 2. Vamo SS
1. Cube 2. The Megalodon 3. Silver Bullet 4. The Roller
With these mechanical mods, I've read things about safety issues, is this a concern or am I worrying over nothing?
Thanks.

Mech mods - especially the mid to high end - are fine as long as they use batteries which are kept in good condition and preferably use a Hot Spring - which acts as a kind of fuse - if it gets too hot it melts and breaks the circuit You can even by a safety fuse if concerned - just can't find it to link to They also need some maintenance - cleaning the switch etc from once a week to a month - depending on the mod (Roller/Dingo once a week - silver bullet once a month) and if thee don't like polishing avoid a polished one and go for matt instead Haven't tried the Zmax - tho have heard it's good - not overly keen on the Vamo - the MVP is a good little upgrade with VV and the ability to charge other USB devices too.

As a someone who hasn't learned the mysteries of Electrickery - i find mech mods a source of comfort - knowing that i can sort most issues they may have out for meself And having waited till the price was right, finally upgraded meself to a Super T P+ 18500 - which is great - tho not sure if the lifetime warranty passes when second hand - tis a reassuring thing to know they were built with that in mind. With most electrical mods - especially the mass produced ones - they expect thee to be happy if it survives 6 months plus

I am currently enjoying mechanical mods. I have a Roller (superb!), a KTS Storm (a bit fragile but very good value) and a Dream Draw Tube (very sturdy). I use them with high capacity Panasonic batteries and one of these: www.safercigs.co.uk/Short_Stop/cat705284_1592634.aspx for peace of mind. I also have a Sigelei flat top telescopic (VV/VW) which is brilliant too. I find I tend to use the mechanical mods with genesis type atomisers - the variable voltage/wattage devices suit my silica wicked atties (and Evods/Vivi Novas) best.

Forgot to say you can also use an electronic module like the Kick, Crown etc in your mechanical mod to give you some electronic protection and also variable voltage or wattage. I have a cheap one made by Sigelei in my Roller (you can buy a Kick extension piece for the Roller) which gives me variable wattage. It's a bit of a pain to adjust as you need to take the mod apart and use a small screwdriver to adjust it, but once you find your sweet spot it's great. One advantage is my Roller with Kick and 18650 installed is shorter than a conventional electronic mod with screen and buttons also looks nicer than most Vamos etc IMHO.

I love me GLV2 mini - with an Evod - pefect out and about set up and the mod i'd be most reluctant to part with as feels great in the hand, excellent for stealth vaping, and its detonator style button Works well with a Spheroid but looks a tad silly (and top heavy) with a genesis or Kayfun on top LoL With Rebuildables - thee can build them to lower resistance (ohms) to make up for using a mech mods more limited voltage - which are also handy as whatever happens with the legal situation - as long as thee can get juice - thee can always fix a mod and build a miser

Hi chuck. The VV/VW ones you list are OK, another one well worth considering is the Smoktech SID: www.ukecigcabin.com/product/smoktech-sid-vv-mod-batteryThe Don is a classic mod - but you might have to be patient to get one as there are none available at the moment from Moju and it is a bit unpredictable when and if they come in. You might see one in the classies though. Your other possibilities are all well rated as well. Personally I'd consider the PAPS, one of my favourites - especially with the new uprated switch, and you can get different tube types and sizes for them: www.vapourart.com/en/product-catalog/30They do batches fairly regularly.

Thanks Dave, I did notice the Don was out of stock and I'm waiting on a reply from Moju telling me when they'll be restocked. I did like the PAPS but noticed that was out of stock as well.

Thanks bluemagnum, I can't tell from the website but do you twist the bottom to lock the switch? They have some nice stuff and it seems to be in stock, which makes a change.

Yes, twist to lock it and they have all 3 tubes so you can just buy 1 full kit and an extra tube. Cracking mods and excellent service from atmomixami. I've used them a few times.

Everything looks very well made, I think that's why I'm being drawn more towards the mechanical side of things.
