Hi all What ohms should I be aiming to coil at with silica (I know, it's not the best but I can't afford any mesh yet, and have loads of silica!)? I have got 1.5/1.6 the last few times, but it's not producing a great amount of vapour and flavour so far. I know that mesh wicking will help that, but I'm wondering of I should add another wrap to the coil. I'm using .2 Kanthal BTW! Andy

It's a very difficult question to answer, all depending on how well your silica is wicking and what voltage you are using. If you have fixed voltage and you are getting dry hits, i'd suggest adding another loop to your coil and take slower drags.

I'm using it on a Vamo, wattage setting at about 7w on average. I'll recoil tonight once I've finished the tank of juice (!) and try an extra wrap - I'll report back later! Thanks for the quick reply Andy

I'd definitely just go for some mesh mate, you can get it for about a fiver.
It's increased my flavour loads and really enjoying it.
