Disappointing, but in truth I'm not even slightly surprised. The pharmaceutical and tobacco industries have mega budgets and can easily buy enough faceless eurocrats to get their way in a committee.

My instinct has always been that this nonsense will end in a court of law. Even big pharma has not yet devised an effective way to bribe the judiciary....
