help with wire res/non res?

Hi so i have just started to rebuild my heads for my protank/ ViViNova/ce5's useing premade coils all gone well with no problems.

Iv been cheeking they r ok useing my itaste vv/vw v3 is this ok to do?

Now i would like to make my own coils with the wick i beleave its all down to personal taste altho i would like to know what you think is best and why and any tips

The wire is the bit that im most unsure about i know that differnt thickness will produce differnt omhs

But what about res/non res wire whats the differnce with them?

Do you use them both to make the coil so the rubber bung dose not burn/melt

whats best wire to use, why and any tips

Hi Wight. There's no need to use no-res wire on the atty's you've mentioned. It is usually used on Oddy/Penelope type attys. Just make sure the wires don't touch each other inside the head

Thanks oneday what about Nichrome V Kanthal is there much of a deffernce between the 2

Hi Wight, I used to supply the groups wire, I've had to stop now as I've got serious health problems but personally I prefer the kanthal. The nichrome tends to burn out quicker although it does the same job and if you don't mind recoiling it's a lot cheaper, I've still got tons of nichrome at 7p a metre
For the fiddly atties on my Vivi Novas I tend to use the nichrome because it's slightly thinner so I find it easier to get the desired Ohms and have less problems with it shorting, but I think most people manage perfectly well with the 0.2 kanthal.
Taste wise I can't tell any difference, I just think the nichrome tends to gunk up faster.
