Hi all With the Mod's permission I am trying to sort out the mish-mash of different recipe formats in the collection to make them easier to read and refer to. We have decided to go with Super-Shiny's version of a simple template, as you can see from the new threads which have appeared so far this morning. I would appreciate it if you could bear with me over the next couple of weeks, so that I can convert the existing recipes into the new format. If I have enough time I will also convert them to an EJMU card as well so they can be mixed 'straight off the screen', as it were. Of course if you have any new recipes that you would like added to the collection, please PM me chykensa and I will re-format if necessary and upload to the appropriate thread. If you are able to, you could download Romelee's template and fill in the details yourself - he has recently posted instructions on how to use this in the Recipes board. Thanking you in advance for your patience! Andy

chykensa Andy, good job getting them all sorted As you're going to the effort of typing all the data into EJMU to make a card, could you possibly make it a clicky to a copy of the .rec file for the recipe? That way, we could download the .rec, and modify - It would save copying the data from one screen to another I'm sure we don't all use the same nic base & want the same strength & PG/VG ratio.

Great idea fred, but my laptop doesn't like the file and I get an @unhandled Exception' error message. I'll have another play later, but not quite sure what to play around with! Andy

chykensa Probably a stupid error at my end - I had an unhandled exception last night, when one of the percentages was blank, I'll look into it in a bit. ..... Ahhh, what version are you using? Me 12.2.1.0 (with 7 flavours)

Think it might be me - I work a lot in audio and the .rec suffix conflicts with VideoLan Player which I use for all media. If I open via EJMU it works OK. Could you give me a bullet-point precis on how you got that to GoogleDocs please - alternatively if you could post something in my thread that would be even more helpful to others too. I've only recently started using GD for sharing files with work colleagues, so any help I can get would be useful on a personal level too Thanks again! Andy

chykensa - it gave me the error as well, when I tried to open it by double clicking. It's looking for a file called Default.dft. If I open the file from EJMU, it works OK, as Default.dft is in the 'correct' place. Maybe breaktru could code his next release to look in the default location as well as the location of the file for Default.dft? So, for now, try opening it from within EJMU, and make sure you're using the same or higher version than me. (If this pans out, you can stipulate version higher than 12.2.1.0 to download the .recs) Google drive.I'm guessing you've got one set up? OK- - drive.google.com
- Top left of screen, just to right of 'create' is an upload arrow - click
- Select file to upload
- In the popup upload box (bottom right) click share.
- Copy the highlighted link (this is the download link)
- Click 'change' next to private access
- I change it to "Anyone with link"
- Save
- Done
- Paste the link onto forum post

this works, else the bullet points are crap! ps - not sure which thread you referenced, but feel free to quote this on it, if it works

chykensaThe new file downloaded OK, so the above should work for you. Plus, breaktru , I copied Default.dft to my download location, hoping to suppress the error, which it did BUT, it started up with just the default template when I clicked on the downloaded file! When I open the downloaded file using EJMU, it works fine. Anything you can do, to allow the file to be correctly opened by double-clicking it from a non-standard location? Cheers! & while we're at it when EJMU regains focus, can you pull the nic-combine window to the front, as at the moment, it hides behind other open windows. It's still the best calculator out there IMHO though

That's great, thanks a lot! I'm currently ploughing through the image files and putting them all in the same thread. I'll get on to the EJMU cards in due course, and will then use your method to pop those up too! Andy

Hey guys, Just so you know: The .rec and .dft files are meant to be opened w/ the EJMU software and not by double clicking the file. The files are saved via the software in the default folder in which the software was installed in. The software has a standard default.dft file and looks for it (in default folder) upon opening EJMU. Creating a new one is done with the software and is saved also in the folder in which it was installed in.

chykensa& while we're at it when EJMU regains focus, can you pull the nic-combine window to the front, as at the moment, it hides behind other open windows. It's still the best calculator out there IMHO though Clicking any of the tools including the nic combine will open a window over the calc window. It can then be moved to a location convenient on your screen. Perhaps your mouse clicking is too sensitive. You may be clicking on the calc window after the tool opens (not intentionally). The focus will be on the last clicked window.

The recipes you refer to are simply copies of images that were/are posted in the Members Collection, therefore not my spelling! I will however add it to my list of corrections etc. to make once I have converted the text-only recipes to Romelee's template and done the EJMU cards for them. Thanks for pointing it out - if you can tolerate vegitabel for another couple of weeks, I'll get 'a round tuit'!! Andy

It's not even the way you just spelled it, it's vegtabale. Been like it forever. I just thought that if you were trying to organise them................
