The bamboo is Aunt Lydias bamboo crochet thread #10, natural - I bought it via ebay US. Our customs completely unrolled the ball of thread, obviously looking for smuggled drugs. I am guessing they couldn't believe someone would import a single ball of thread into Germany =) They stuffed the unrolled thread back into the package. If I had wanted to crochet with it, I would have been quite angry =) I didn't find anything similar in Germany, maybe you have more luck in the UK. The bamboo is great for wicking micro coils because it has a defined size. I know I need 6 strands of the stuff inside a 1,5mm ID coil, and 8 strands in a 2mm ID coil. I use some Kanthal wire, fold it over, thread the loop through the coil, put the bamboo through the loop and pull the wire with the bamboo through the coil. Works like a needle threader my granny used to have. This is the right stuff: www.ebay.com/itm/Aunt-Lydias-Bamboo-Crochet-Thread-Size-10-Natural-/300919921538

Thanks Chris, it looks like the USA is the only place to get this. Does it need washing or boiling before use? It sounds like it wicks even better than cotton.

I don't treat it at all and just use it as it is. But it might actually a good idea to wash it before use - without soap, of course. It does taste a bit different than cotton - but both have almost no taste of their own, compared to glass fibre.
It does wick very well, yes, but my usual vapes are bottom fed, I don't actually need juice transport at all. A splinter off a tooth pick should work. Hmm, theres an idea!

Just tried a microcoil on one of my Spheroids, 7 wraps of .25 Kanthal using 1 mm. Ekowool pulled through the coil but it is either being choked by the coil or it is just not wicking fast enough.
Removed and started afresh, again 7 wraps .25 Kanthal and this time with cotton wool, came in at 1.8ohms. Pulled it through the coil with enough length to twist to make it more string like but held the wool just above the coil as I wanted that part to remain fluffy, then formed a rough loop and shoved it up to the filling. Never really expected it to work as I thought the cotton wool would fall away from the serra/Jewel filler but to my surprise it is vaping like a train.
The most noticeable thing I have found with the Microcoil and cotton wool has got to be the flavour of the juice. The taste of my ODPVC, Thealchemist`s coconut ice and my Pixiejuice Choc Chip Ice Cream have never tasted quite this good even with Ecowool. Cotton wool definitely gives a much cleaner taste.
Have ordered some .30 Kanthal from The Vape Mesh company to try and I will also order some Bamboo wool as advised by Chris above.

I can tell you now, the flavour is outstanding and almost as good as cotton wool I have some here from my experiment with everything days I just got fed up with constant rewicking due to burning. I used to make micro coils in the penelope with bamboo wool, wonderful vape for a tank but with something like a penelope the only way you can tell when the tank is empty is when the flavour starts to change which = burnt wick

i used 20guage because it was all i had laid about but first i made a twisted kantel wire ,double the 20guage then spin it in a drill it twist like a piano wire lowering the ohms no idea what it comes out at but 10 raps around 2mm drill gave me 1.6ohms just wanted to try it last night before ordering some different kanthal just recoiled the AGA+T 2mm ss wire + 400mesh then a 8 wrap coil giving me 1.6 ohms works great less chance of the coils moving i hope so a more stable atty (ust to get really sick of tweaking the coils every hr or so (carry in pocket)

My .30 Kanthal has been dispatched today so fingers crossed for tomoz. If it does not get here, I will give your twisted a go with some .16 that I have. Cheers punisher

Yes it's the same colour mate, no colour added though. If you soak it in hot water no colour leeches out. It is the natural colour
