Don't know if anyone else uses this, but all of a sudden I am experiencing problems with it. When I connect my phone via usb cable, it recognises it & connects to it, but if, for example I then want to transfer photos from the phone to the pc, I keep getting error messages like this: " Wizard - error initial dexplorer" & I also got this one: "Device Explorer - Unable to initialise data engine" In other words, the program recognises the phone, but that's about it.......I've tried uninstalling the program & drivers for PC Studio & re-installing both again from the disc that came with the phone, but it hasn't made any difference. I've opened my bedroom window & the pc, at present is aimed towards it, ready to exit if the stupid thing doesn't start behaving......... Any ideas anyone?

Hey there chrisjw, I know it might sound stupid but I'm an IT professional so here goes: Have you tried turning it off and on again? (both the computer and the phone). If you have windows 7 or even XP, try to run the samsung pc studio as admin (close the program first, then right click the icon and select "run as/run as administrator")

I'm running XP........I'll also try the admin thingy....thanks testdruif.

Turning the phone off might help too. We have had some issues at work with nokia phones not syncing, when you ask when they last turned of the thing they say "not since I got it 2 years ago..."

I'm using an S2 and when I accidentally deleted Kies while cleaning up some HDD space my phone wouldnt connect properly. It still charged from the pc but it wouldnt register as a device.

I've tried turning both the phone & pc off, but to no avail...........as I say, it recognises & connects to the phone, but won't allow me to do anything. I'll see if re-installing kies helps tomorrow.
