It's the first time I have used this type of equipment. I filled up up by putting a few drops down the top bit then pulled the bottom of it out and filled it up a little no where near full. However it leaks from the bottom I have left it for about 30 min now and it seems to have settled is this normal or is it the way I have filled up. Excuse the non knowledge of top and bottom bits lol

The middle bit is the cartomiser and you need to make sure you only put liquid onto the wadding inside. 20 drops or so should be enough. The way I fill my DCT for the first time is by taking the cartomiser out of the tank and filling that then I screw the carto onto my battery and have a quick vape to make sure the carto is primed properly/doesn't taste burnt or bad. Then I put it almost all the way into the tank and fill the tank to just over 3/4 full and vape away. When you refill these there is no need to put liquid into the carto again as it is already pretty saturated just fill the tank unless you are putting a new carto in it.
It sounds like you have either got liquid down the central hole of the carto or overfilled the carto before adding juice to the tank. if it has stopped leaking you should be fine to just vape as normal and when it comes to refilling only refill the tank.
Hope this helps

Im guessing the carto is flooded thus leaking out the bottom of the carto or as jordan says liquid down the centre tube. You have to prime the carto first before you put it in the tank and fill the tank. This might help.

Must admit I don't prime DC's at all . . . just pop them in the tank, fill about 3/4 full, put the top on and leave to soak for a good 30 minutes if not longer before I use them.
I also empty the tanks completely and a little more before re-filling to avoid any leaking from the carto being flooded.

.... and can the be put in an ultra sonic and cleaned Not the cartomizer, but the tank yes. Personally, I don't bother. I've been vaping with a mini protank, a T3S an evod and a big Protank last 3 weeks. Rinse them out, fill 'em up and vape. Same head on all too which equals about 1 week per head per clearo.

Quickest way I've found to fill a carto is to fill the tank up to around 80%, push the carto up fully, stick on the drip tip and then, with your finger over the 510 connector, suck on it repeatedly to draw the juice through the holes into the carto filler material.
Remember to take your finger off the 510 connector between draws to allow air in.
You should see air bubbles coming from the holes in the carto, going up inside your tank. Takes around 5 minutes to do :
You can tell when you're almost done as the draw will become ever so slightly gurgly instead of just airy.
Just be sure to check take the drip tip off & check the filler material to make sure it's moist / has changed colour before using.
Some cartos, like the DCT ones LTeCigs sell only take 1min to do. You can actually see the liquid level drop in the tank while sucking due to the large slots in the carto.

Something i wrote up ages ago bazzer343Fill tank too around 60-70%, i prefer 60%, i tend to find the more you fill it the more chance of flooding (think it is to do with pressure). Leave to rest in the tank for awhile to let the carto adjust to it and then try it out. You can also before starting to use it is do the dry vaping, by blocking the bottom of the carto hole (when it's in the tank) vape until you see no more bubbles come out of the punched hole, like this video here: Another video on tanks here: The other reason i fill to around 60% is because IF it does feel like it is flooding you can tilt the tank and vape only the juice from the carto which will empty the extra juice in the carto, if the tank was 100% full you could not do this because there is no empty room left so it will just keep pulling in more juice from the tank. Gotta just remember that the Carto is like a submarine in water and all that juice is wanting to get in, so when vaping with a tank it's best not to fast vape continuously as you will be pulling in loads of juice too much and too often. Hope some of this helps.
