Coil Ohms

Don't know why, but I've just wicked & coiled 3 heads & they all read 1.6ohms, which is lower than normal......Used the same wick/coil (2mm & 0.20) & 5 turns as I always use.

I'm a complete novice at recoiling chrisjw but maybe looser or tighter than usual?

Maybe the method used to test is faulty?
I have a vamo that I used for testing that was fine for months but now it reads two ohms too high.

Using my e-vic to test & it's reading fine, 'cos I just tried it on a ready made coil...........Must be something I'm doing....

Your coils will be tighter/closer, using less wire hense less resistance I believe....

4 wraps using 2mm Ekowool and 0.2 Kanthal normally for me reads 1.6 ohms, 5 wraps normally gives me 2.1 ohms.

have noticed that if you space the coils evenly then it makes a diffrence,tight distances between the coil loops ups it a bit ,just done a silca and mesh wick will say hmmmmm lovely[my first one]
