Just received my rsst from XRAYSPECS (thanks for the quick poatage) but when I try and screw it on the Magneto it doesn't :-( Turns about half a turn and then stops. It bitson the Vamo perfectly and the protank fits the Magneto fine. Has anyone else had this issue and any ideas on getting it to fit without ripping the threads?

If I get that problem with any atty's, I screw on & back off in increments, until it goes on properly....sometimes they need a slight coaxing, but do it a bit at a time...maybe a little smear of vaseline on the thread could help too.......

So describe it scientifically, it feels "tight" and "stuck" . It Doesnt kilter to one side like a cross thread would do. The best thing so far is no one has said this is a known issue! So it must be a bit of a one off. I'll try the easing method, and see where that gets me But thanks for your ideas

Just to give all you helpful people an update, my new rsst arrived from fast tech and it screws onto the Magneto perfectly so I guess that answers the question, the threads where too shallow on the 1st rsst I'm now have a lovely no gap rsst and Magneto. Put the first coil in it tonight came out at 1.9ohms so not too bad think I did 4 wraps of 0.2 kanthal so next time I'll try 3 and see where that leaves me. Also used a little extra 500 mesh so I guess that would account for a bit extra too.

Sounds good, the other option would be thicker kanthal, The RSST having such a large wick hole makes for a longer Length of wire per turn.

Yep thought about that, markm will try less wraps first and if not maybe pay you a visit.
