Exactly what I've just done Dan.
First attempt was with 2mm silica and it was ok, no dry hits but not a great flavour either. Four wraps came out at 1.6 and flavour wise it's better for me .
I'm going to keep trying different combinations, till I find the one I like best.

Just wicked mine using this method..( 2mm silica + 0.20 kanthal )...a doddle..........haven't fired it up yet though..............

Been vaping with it for over a hour now and i think it's the best method so far

Not one single dry hit.

3 nights solid now without any dry hits, Im not sure what any other methods offer, but if they give dry hits now and again I don't see why I need to change

Every time I get a full tank with a nice coil, someone makes me think there's a better way and I have to puff like a train to empty my tank and try it out!

Yep it definitely seems to give a much fuller flavour
I've been experimenting with a few different sized airholes too with good results.... just wish I had about three more of these to experiment with

This is working out really well, I've been going nuts with this and not one hint of a dry hit. My homebrew raspberry, which is my all day vape seems too strong. So far this is the best way I've used to coil the KFL

I wicked my KFL on saturday morning with this set up and have put about 7 tanks through it and I think it is now about ready for a change. 5 days of hard vaping, full flavour all the time, no leaks and no dry hits. I can't see any reason to try anything different.

So I changed it over and the previous coil looks like it could have been washed and dry burned if I am honest.
