First re Coil for Protank

I did  recoil one head for my Kanger Protank. I'm using 0.15mm Ni Chrome wire and Silica Wick in 2mm. After 5 consecutive times I did get the 1.5/1.6 ohm which it what I wanted. The problem I have is that I'm tasting like wire or plastic when I vape and this happened in all the 5 times I did recoiled the head to get the 1.5 ohm am I doing something wrong ? I did even dry burn the coil before.

Guess I found the reason what it was causing the taste. I was putting too down the coil and it was touching the white rubber down.So it was burning/melting when I vape which it makes the taste.

I did recoiled another but with no luck think I won't coil anymore as I'm loosing the temper now and will throw everything

I never got on with Ni Chrome wire, always tasted a bit funky, turn the wattage down on your eVic and vape a full tank of juice in the Protank,it will settle in after time...... and maybe get some Kanthal 0.2 at a later date.

If it is driving you mad right now stop trying and try again another day when you feel better.

I 'm now watching on YT how to make the coil with a screw as I still cannot get how the hell when the screw is out how to put the wick in. But I won't try now as if I loose my temper don't want I will break the Evic lol

melitahams easiest was is to get a paperclip and run the wick along it horizontal and hold the beginning of the wick in place with your thumb and then wrap the coils around it quite tight as it will loosen up when the paperclip is removed.

Thanks Romelee it helps allot I was able to find a small bolt but I made my eyes crazy  to make the wire around it.But after little patience I done it at first when I put it on the Evic to see the ohms it start telling me atomizer short but after pulling here and there it worked and it comes 1.9 ohms I now mount it to the protank and its not 100% as I guess its not tight enough but no burnt taste I will give a try what u posted tomorrow now as my eyes get crooked Thanks again

It's really making me crazy this thing but after I keep on trying I guess I get some clue on what I'm doing wrong. First I have to make 2 pieces of wick as with one piece after some time the Protank will start leaking as I guess the upper part of the atomizer where the wick stays remains a bit open. I did re wicked again and still at first it started giving me atomizer short which after I google it I found out what it is as at first I thought that its a wick problem but it's only the center pin not making contact with the connection  but after playing a bit it worked and it showed 1.5 Ohms.This time I made it with the paper clip as Romelee suggested and I find it's more easier rather than to turn it on a screw and then try to get inside the wick. I'm doing 3 turns as with 4 turns it will get 2.2 ohms. I will try to make another if I be in the mood so at least I get a 1.8 ohms or somewhere nearer or I shall stay with the 1.5 ohms?
I will see if possible to get a screw but with a hole inside as to pass before the wick something impossible I guess

One more turn should bring it up, i myself like anything from 1.8 too 2.0 ohms but that is just me.

One more turn should bring it up, i myself like anything from 1.8 too 2.0 ohms but that is just me.

With 4 turns it comes about 2.0 or 2.1 ohms and I have 5 coils  in 2.2 (which I get with the Protank) so I'm trying to get one in 1.8 ohms to get more throat hit and more vapor. I did mount this on the Protank and it now shows 1.7ohms

I did re coiled another one and it comes out I guess the best one I have done till now. It comes 2.1 but it vapes good next time I make a turn less as I tried 5 turns now. I did used a needle instead of the paper clip and I left the needle in place till I finished all the work and it helped me allot not to get down the coil. This time I used the nail clippers as Romelee suggested and it's better than using a scissors as it cuts the wire exactly and even the wick Thanks Romelee

melitahams the more you make coils the easier it becomes and will be second nature sooner or later, once you get to grips with it all will be easy from then on
