I know a few of you have travelled abroad and taken your kit and juices. I am thinking ahead here, but I would personally prefer all my equipment to be on my person, i.e hand luggage.
However I was booking a flight for a friend yesterday, and I noticed a big picture which showed what you are not allowed to take onboard the plane at all. One of the items was a skull and crossbow, and said toxic substances. So according to them these are not allowed on the flight in hand or hold luggage.
E-Liquid has the skull and crossbow on it.
I was wondering those who have flown to a holiday destination, did you pop it in your hand luggage, or suitcase, and did you decant it or did the original bottles have the toxic symbol on?
I can not think of anything worse than getting 100/200ml of liquid confiscated, just as you are setting out on holiday. I'm not worried about the hassle of it all, I've had that before, but if they took it away what would I do.

I've never had a problem and must have flown 10 times in the last six months. Once, on the way back from Italy I was asked whats this as the lady pointed at a vivi nova, I pointed at my evic and said it screws on there and .... She interrupted "e cigarette" she said to the X-ray man. Thank you and off I went. If your worried about the skull and crossbones put your liquid in a different bottle. I've never bothered. Remember though you can't take large bottles of liquid In Your hand luggage. Two ten ml bottle and two attys full are all your ever gonna need for the airport so put the rest in your hold luggage. Don't forget to keep your attys and you bottles of liquid in a clear zip lock bag separet from your hand luggage as it goes through the X-ray machine just, ask for one at security, I always throw my evic in the same tray so they don't have to look for it if they find it of interest. As far as I'm aware they never have. I literally pick my evic up on the other side of the X-ray machine and stick an atty back on the top and vape while I sort my stuff out, shoes belt etc. you'll have no problem and plenty of smokers will be very interested as you sit and vape away in departures Have a nice trip! Chris.

Sammy, good advice from Toondog you cannot carry liquids in your hand luggage totaling more than 100ml. Put bulk liquids in your hold luggage. Just carry 10ml in your hand luggage. I just did Sent from my Nexus 4 using proboards

I put all my liquid & batteries in the suitcase , If you take 10ml in your hand luggage, I suggest to remove skull & crossbones logo from bottle. Vaping on board, I take a dual coil cartomiser which is pre soaked in liquid, so that it doesnt show any liquid swimming around. I disconnect my ecig, before boarding, then reconnect, stealth vape in my seat, then take numerous visits to the toilet. Cheers Mike

All lithium batteries HAVE to be carried in hand luggage, whether for vaping, cameras, whatever. I usually carry a couple of half-filled clearos in hand luggage too, but the rest of my liquid goes in checked luggage. Wrap any filled clearos/cartos well in kitchen paper or similar, as they will leak under pressure. I usually wear an eGo/clearo set-up on a lanyard round my neck during the flight, and have been known to stealth vape. Because of the leaking under pressure, it's probably best to use a liquid that doesn't give off too much of a smell (learned that after emanating chocolate donut rather strongly!). Think I've flown around 8 times since I started vaping in March, and not had a problem as yet.

Sammy13 when my sister went to Turkey recently (as you know i make her juices) i got some empty whisky miniature glass bottles from our local club & sterilised them with denture tablets overnight, then put her 30ml of juice in 3 of them & she carried it in her hand luggage (no other liquids though as you are only allowed 100ml total per person) for the reason being, what if her luggage went missing or got delayed. She had no problems whatsoever with leaks as there was plenty of room for the liquid to expand & as i had put the labels on the bottles there was not the toxic warning either.

Good advice from Darkginger regarding batteries in hand luggage and attys leaking slightly under cabin pressure. They will a little but I've yet to have a disaster. I would be concerned at decanting liquids into other types of bottles to pass them off as something else as to all intents and purposes you will appear to be trying to hide something which in itself is an offence. Just be sensible, a lot of flights clearly state no vaping on the aircraft, to then go ahead and vape is asking for trouble. You could be responsible for having ecigs banned full stop from airports/hand luggage etc. Chris.

Oh i didn't put them in other bottles to pass them off as something else Toondog they were put in the glass bottles as i had read somewhere that the plastic bottles sometimes leak with the air pressure & she was worried about having no juice in Turkey & ending up on the fags again.

Also best to take caps of liquids and put some cellophane over the top and screw lid back on tight, better to be safe than stinky

I have been on a number of airlines and through numerous customs/security checks this summer and I have had no problems doing this: - Eliquid for the hold I put in my washbag - no leaks - Eliquid for hand luggage in a clear plastic bag and put separately in the tray for scanning - no leaks - All batteries/mods in hand luggage and put separately in the tray for scanning (I was using MVPs) - Empty all attys/clearos etc of eliquid - they do leak a bit in the air - On board I vaped cartos in the toilet - the MVP is a little conspicuous for stealth vaping

My experience was pretty much the same. Had my protank on my Vamo and put that the tray, 3x 20ml bottles of liquid in the plastic bag when I travelled to and from Switzerland. I got asked what it was at Swiss xray and the lady held it up and shouted to the man manning the scanner ecig and commented on the size with a laugh. No problems at all though, although I didn't vape in the terminal or plane, I figured I could last the couple of hours!

Thankyou for all your replies. I guess take the liquid in hand luggage and remove toxic symbol is probably the best option.

I fly regular, been vaping for nearly 5 years, just one stop at security, said e-ciggie and guy said fine. Never had problem with juice in original containers. For safety if sending in hold I always put juice in a small sealable sandwich box, dont want 2 weeks of nic juice smell on clothes if one leaks. I also make sure juice is in several bottles again in case you get a leak, least you'll have some supplies when you arrive. Just be carefull if you decide to vape on the plane, most airlines have banned them, so stealth is the key (or cold turkey on short flights).

Rom gave me a good tip, undo the lid on the juice, cover top of the bottle with cling film and replace lid, this is because the air pressure can make the juice ooze out , I also put them in a Tupperware box
