Is Inhaling Nicotine Toxic.

I read that Inhaling Nicotine is Toxic  how safe is Vaping??? This got me worried hearing that.

I'm not sure where you read that. There are over 4,000 chemicals in cigarettes, many of them toxic or carcinogenic. Nicotine is not one of the nasty ones and is relatively safe.

Nicotine is a toxic substance yes, that's why there are cautions when handling or mixing with it and there's a limit in this country on the strength you can import without a Poisons Licence.

As for inhaling it, then no as Oneday says.

I read a report recently in which an eminent professor stated that nicotine is on a par with caffine when it comes to being a toxic substance so no more harmful than tea or coffee.

All the studies I have seen echo the sentiments in this study:

I wonder if you ve read something about pure nicotine?(99.9999999999% nicotine) which would be lethal .

The nicotine your inhaling is probably 18 to 24 mg which is 1.8% to 2.4 % nicotine diluted in pg or vg(maybe less or a little more) which is well and truly within the safe zone (it only becomes toxic at 5% plus)

Studies are showing nicotine inhalation at the levels that are in your e liquids to be massively safer than smoking the equivalent in cigarettes.

Lots of info on this forum and around the internet to read and learn from which ive been doing daily for months now and feel confident im at least substantially safer vaping than i was smoking (if i set the damage aside for a moment that smoking has most likely done over 30 plus years

That may have been Professor John Britton, who leads the tobacco advisory group for the Royal College of Physicians.

He said:

"Nicotine itself is not a particularly hazardous drug. It's something on a par with the effects you get from caffeine. If all the smokers in Britain stopped smoking cigarettes and started smoking e-cigarettes we would save 5 million deaths in people who are alive today. It's a massive potential public health prize."

However, nicotine in its neat form can be dangerous so it must be handled carefully. In e-liquids at normal strengths fit to vape it shouldn't cause any problems.

You need to remember that water is toxic if you drink too much of it. Several of the kids who have died taking ecstasy actually died from the toxic effect of all the water they consumed to overcome the dehydrating effect of the drug

I'm sure if you inhaled too much too fast it could be a problem.. not sure what, i hear sickness etc..

I wouldn't worry too much about vaping.. especially low nicotine levels

If you was to mix a full jar of coffee into a drinkable liquid with a minimal amount of water and downed it, and repeated the process, it would eventually cause you problems too

same for cigarettes, you can get nicotine poisoning if you smoke way too many too fast

Yep, I know what you mean. I was trying to find a better study than the one I linked to but I couldn't find it either.

Just a thought but maybe vapour juice mean if you inhale it neat from the bottle without vaporising it first or, as others have said, if you vape too much of it at any one time. Not sure. ???

As my old gran used to say "everything in moderation -- a little of what you fancy does you good" Its the same with nicotine as it is with coffee - too much and there are nasty side effects but great in moderation.
