Is it possible to fit the centrepin back in to a twist? my twist stopped working yesterday & when i checked it the centrepin had pushed right to the bottom so i got a pointed nail file & carefully lifted it back up but when it was nearly in right position the pin came out totally. is this worth messing about with or is it ready for a new home in the bin?

Is the wire still attached to the pin or did it pull off?

No @oneday it had no wire attatched, i had noticed it moving a couple of days before as i was cleaning it with a cotton bud so it must have broken off before it pressed down with the charger.

Hi dinamic
If the centre pin is out totally with no wire attached then it would need opened to resolder the live wire back on.
Its not really too hard if you know someone handy with a soldering iron, the top is a pressure fit that comes off fairly easily and a little straight forward soldering puts it back together.
To be honest ive opened a few things now(still getting to grips with them) and im pretty disappointed with the build quality ((wiring) .
Hope this helps

Ok thanks rich64 my husband or my son would be able to do this for me as both are competent with a soldering iron, probably the wiring system is like: what the eye cannot see & all that.

Hi dinamic Just let them know to be careful when seperating the head , the head will "wiggle" off (protect the head with some insulating tape to avoid scratching) then they will see a small circuit board which in turn has wires coming from the battery (the battery will be soldered to the base at the neg end so avoid pulling on it ) circuit board should have wiring long enough to allow movement to give space to resolder the pin back on making sure its fully insulated in the insulating grommet(rubber like sleeve) (can easily get a new pin if need be id imagine) Overall easier done than trying to write it here(Id never get a job with haynes car manual guides ) but just to be careful not to pull on the wires inside(really not much wiring to worry about.

Dont mean to push the subject but it will just be a replacement piece of wire needed (maybe just put it away in a drawer until someone feels all techy and macho and fixes it for you ) That said if you are intent on consigning it to the bin , it really would be safer putting it into the councils battery recycling bin as these batteries are pretty volatile when damaged (eg gets crushed somewhere between your bin and landfill) Always worth a try fixing like you did though

Maybe Raid would get some use out of the twist for spare parts ,still a few good components in it plus a (3month?) old battery there and its safe disposal/recycling ? Just a thought (and i admit it i hate wasting stuff )

Thanks rich64. dinamic22 please don't throw these things away! 8 times out of 10 they can be repaired. I do free repairs, all you pay is the postage. Any that can't be repaired I scavenge parts from to subsidise other free repairs. If you have all the parts I may be able to rebuild it for you.

sorry raid2506 i pulled it all apart just in case any kids got hold of it, i got the battery back out of the bin to put in a battery recycling bin, all thats left thats any good is the firing button, circuit board, the top part that the firing button fits in & the centre pin which i saved for spares. I will remember in future & get in touch if i have any more problems & thank you. The twist was only 4 weeks old but it had been having charging issues from the 2nd week (must have been because of the disconnected wire from the centre pin) i had contacted the vendor last week & they sent me a new one a few days ago & did not ask for the other one returning. Thanks again

No worries dinamic22, at least you got a good result from the vendor. Before you know it you'll have a bucket load of spares and earache from the other half. "Why the hell do you keep all that rubbish? Nobody needs 11 empty eGo battery cases!" Or is that just me?
