Honestly your fine guys your comments were Is my fault! I research the crap out of things then get so confused with info overload! Thinking about it though you wouldn't be in that situation if you kept a rotation of a few batteries going which I guess I will have.

My interpretation is asasafety issue rather than to prolong the batteries life. Batteries display problems by getting hot, they also warm up when's use, Either discharging or when charging. So there is a slightly higher risk fresh off The charger. A better instruction might be, if your battery is warm then let It cool down before using it again, if it is getting too hot to touch then dispose Of it in some saline solution (very salty water)

I always stand my newly charged batteries in a bucket of salt.
Then again, I have been charged with assault and battery!

Also, I have a 18350 battery which went through a wash and dry cycle same with a joyetech ego c... I left them about 3 weeks before testing them and they still work and do not over heat. I think the better made li-ion batteries are tougher than we think.

It sounds like a pull from Lead Acid battery safety where standing the batteries is advised because the cells can continue to gas for several minutes after charging.
I don't see any way this can be applicable to dry cell batteries as the chemical transfer should stop within milliseconds of a charge current being disconnected.
I have however had a multi cell Li-Po battery run-away immediately after being disconnected, but this was one time out of hundreds of batteries/charges.
Apart from any safety implications there is only one other reason I know of for letting batteries sit for a while.
The voltage will be artificially raised after charging. After sitting for 10 minutes the peak charge should have subsided and allow for an accurate voltage reading.

Thanks raid2506! as per the comments from the rest of the nutters group I will no longer be worried about using a battery straight from the charger although for peice of mind might give it 10 mins rest (poor thing)

Simple answer to the problem, have lots of batteries and use them in rotation.
