I want to buy the wife a camera for the dashboard of the car,there are way too many crash for cash incidents where she has to drive so for safety i think it would be beneficial.Does anyone own one or can recommend one to buy.

Yes I can recommend one.

GoPro camera, I use one for my motorbike, for bmxing, skateboarding, car driving, underwater, you name it, it handles it.

And its worth the price tag.

If your not into the extreme sports then ignore the black edition and go for a standard one, but I promise you will not be disappointing in them. 100% recommend. (god I sound like a sales rep, if only they gave me some for free haha)

The Sunday Times reviewed dashboard cameras recently

I think the shortlist was

1 - Mi-Witness HD
2 - Roadhawk HD
3 - Finevu CR500
4 - SmartCam 2 (Was classified as a "budget" camera and didn't really get a great review)

There are probably smartphone apps that will do the same job as well??

The most extreme i get is taking my wheelchair down a drop kerb .Where did you buy it from please.

I have not got this I just had a browse & thought it looked good, not as big & cumbersome as others plus rear camera as well

If it was Me I think I would go for the UK ebay one as that has remote (fasttech version not showing one) plus the one reviewed in second video was purchased from ebay.
you even got me considering one now

I have the one that Fiddles recommended but unfortunately bought in the Uk for more than double the Fasttech price ... no surprise there then. It is a brilliant piece of kit and I would highly recommend it especially at the Fasttech price. Only down side is the Chinglish instructions but there are loads of videos on you tube that will explain the functions clearly.
