.....I saw my first out & about vaper today.  Am chauffeuring a non driving friend & her visiting sister around this week & today, I was treated to lunch out. The resto we went to, I know & it allows vaping.  Looked up & there was a lady at the next table, having an après lunch vape. :DShe's been vaping for 4 months, thoroughly enjoying it & apart from in a seeing someone in a vaping shop, I was her first out & about vaper too. lol

Apart from the lovely folks I've met from here & the neighbours I've converted, I've not seen any other vapers while out & about.

OH apart from the one we came across at the next table to us at the first Cornwall meet

I didn't used to know any vapers either when I started

3 months later I've managed to convert about a quarter of the residents of the work smoking shelter, plus the folks who were already struggling with cigalikes.

Visibility matters

I was waiting in traffic going into Truro tonight and whilst I was absent-mindedly tooting on my Spinner and clearo full of menthol, I became aware of someone watching me. I looked around and saw someone smiling at me in a car going the other way, also waiting for traffic. As I looked at her, she slowly produced a Protank on a Spinner and we saluted each other by raising our PVs and then puffing away furiously. As an aside, she was a fine young specimen, but that's not really relevant

There are only two other vapers in my area. One of them only vapes at home, but the other can be seen out and about with his Fasttech goodies. Usually he is cursing and trying to put a brave smile on things. Then, with great pride he reminds me how much I must have spent and how much he has saved. Except for that day in the market when the top fell off his spinner ............

Hey, I'm not going to knock him, he's a Taxi driver and I've lost count of the times he has given me a free ride into town.

The people here seem to go for the patches and the gum.

Its like people don't want to vape in public, abit like people don't like to smoke in public where there are alot of non-smokers.

I have only seen a couple of other vapers at a party, they had the silly ones with the light at the bottom cig-a-like type and still smoke cigs as well, which to me kind of defeats the object. One of my sons friends gran also vapes, but she went to hide in the toilets to have a quick vape when we were out together one day.

There definitely is a shortage of visible vapers, so maybe it is embarrassment, as I know the shop in town is very busy.

More chauffeuring today, with a dentist run & market. Two stallholders commented on my Spinner & Protank & asked if it worked & was it good. Lots of looks & plenty of smokers (I was with two) when we stopped for a drink at the bar/tabac in the beautiful hot sunshine.

That is good to read!  We are quickly growing in numbers, just some areas faster than others.

A friend of mine vapes at home but smokes at work and when out and about. I asked him why and he replied along the lines that he would prefer to be thought of as a devil-may-care smoker than a nicotine addict who was afraid of dying!!!!!!!!!!! The mind boggled let me tell you! ???
