My daughter said she didn't feel too well to my granddaughter the other day, so she said she should get a red button like nanny. I have one of those alert necklaces I have to wear indoors in case I go into diabetic coma or have a fall. When I first got it, I explained it to my 6yr old GD. I told her that if nanny ever fell asleep and she couldn't wake me up she must press the red button and a lady will come on loud speaker so she can tell her that nanny needs waking up. We had it all down pat. She went through everything on her own and I was very pleased at how she seemed to have taken it all on board. Well... Today, when my daughter told me about GD suggesting she get a button like nannys, I told her how proud I was that she had remembered our conversation. I asked "so...do you remember what you have to do If nanny won't wake up Danielle?" "Yes!" She said, "I have to jump up and down on you VERY hard and pull your eyes apart!" Note to self..... Don't get ill when Danni is about!!

Oh dear Blownupdolly!! Well... I suppose she's just being thorough, she would have to make sure that you're not just having a nap!! You did say that she should press the button if she couldn't wake you up!!!

You did say that she should press the button if she couldn't wake you up!!! I can say quite categorically that having a nap when she is here is out of the question!! Even when she stays over night she comes bouncing through our bedroom door and burrows herself between us, usually around 6am. which is made worse now she is going through the "why" at the end of every sentence phase at the moment. So love her to bits though

LOL Dolly, love it The things they say do brighten the day though even if you have to smile behind cupped hands.

Well that's kind of sweet and literal. I guess everyone would want to have a granddaughter like her.

Special times. Precious wee GD...no you are right. No napping when she's over LOL. 6am is normal 'well' get up time for me Way too early for me. Saying that, she stayed over last night and yep, on the dot, 6am and in she bounces, but thankfully today she snuggled down into my chest under the duvet and fell straight back to sleep. Ahhhhhhhhh, something's in life you just can't put a price on.
