I could never stop talking to you guys. If you think this is bullying and abuse try spending your childhood in a welsh nationalist school when your mums from the east end of London and your dad cant speak welsh. That was abuse. You guys are like puppy's and kittens with little claws which scratch, sometimes draw blood but ultimately can be stepped on heh heh heh. You know I love you all. Jez We do like you Jez (no L word for my repressed scottish self), I have just been being playful/silly - no bullying aim at all - but if you want . . . . Nah joking, I come from the Highlands where shinty is a lovely sport played by cavemen and at my school at least one pupil a week ended up in A&E after break time or PE lessons - dem farm hillbillies not know strength or understand humour. My family were "incomers", me being the only one born there so I get what you mean. Luckily my family come from good viking stock and are very good at losing it (I on one occassion was being stabbed in the back with a pencil and retaliated by sticking my pencil into his kneecap, I did tell him to stop several times first you know - oh those happy years of education!).

Wow verey, its like we went to the same school Our mountain folk didn't like anything that resembled hockey as their sisters/girlfriends used to play that. When they weren't playing no-rules-rugby they used to have 2p fights. That used to cause some injury's when it was 20 of em in a row waiting for you to come round the corner. Used to make a killing after clearing up after the bell went tho. Even started throwing em back when I got a bit older and got my brown and white stripes in karate. HA! good days. Hey Perp!!! JEz

JEz Ooh No Jez, really - find film of shinty games online. If you see a match where someone doesn't get something broken by a "stick" being used in an axe like manner held by a guy who looks like he's from an ascent of man picture (he'll be in the middle of that picture) you're not watching shinty. You could call it war-hockey I suppose. Brave and insane people would go to Kingussie in the highlands and mention shinty being like hockey and no one would ever find any of the pieces. Highland women just beat the crap out of you, no sport needed, since many of the women look much like the men but with mamaries. Gaelic football is similarly about as much like football as warfare is like a quiet chat - but I believe that does get played in bits of Wales. Needless to say I managed to find ways not to be in a PE class at school since even playing rounders, bats managed to meet body parts at speed.

You've just answered something there Verey I've wondered about for years. Upon entering Newtonmore which is next door to Kingussie, there is a sign saying "shinty here this Saturday". I've often thought what it was, now I know, thank you. Kingussie also has the best chippy I've ever had a fish from north of the border!
