Happened to me twice now !!! Amost set fire to my pocket .... Completely boiled an Iclear 30.... Seriously dangerous, it gets red hot ... Put an unprotected batt in by mistake that I normally use on my Vamo ... This is a serious risk and pretty scary when you realise you have a red hot poker in your pocket !!..

As with all things you buy, make sure ALL fittings are tight and correct and you are using the right battery for it and simple maintenance once a week, nothing much out there will work as intended forever unless a simple bit of maintenance is done now and again.

To be honest spikus i don't think the above is a recurring thing as i would presume there would be a re-call of the mod from Smok........time will tell i suppose.

Still not had any issue with mine luckily but I am always checking how the locking ring feels when I use it (multiple times a day ).. sometime I find myself thinking..... Did that feel ok? Better to be over cautious in this case me thinks.

It's not the locking ring so much as the brass internal "nut " that can easily unscrew from the fire button / magnet ... When mine went off on both occasions I ad the locking ring engaged ...

I think on Phils video he noticed the locking went down further or kept spinning, which prompted him to know something was not right. Definitely worth keeping an eye on though

I took mine to bits when I got it to see how it worked (bad habit), put it all back together (because things don't always go back together as easily as they come apart) and never had a problem. I did see the review and have been looking out for it though.

Just had a nosy at mine, and tightened it a bit, it's most likely to happen if you keep using the locking ring and over time it loosens a bit each time till the fault happens, so just something to keep an eye on occasionally, cheers digi

You're never gonna guess what happened this morning...... Button fell out the bottom of the Magneto! Luckily I wasn't driving or anything so whipped the top off battery out, and then had to work out how it all went together, been ok since though. Just one question, on the brass bit you screw on the thread of the button, does the grooves go up or down?
Edit, looking at the pic above it goes up duh!

Grove faces up ... So you can use a large flat bladed tool to tighten
