my guess is you have turned smileys off in your settings.
what we see is

Hi Chrissie now your getting technical lol.

In settings is says Proboard colours. Funny I am using IE and just tried with Google Chrome and the smiley shows up fine - maybe my browser settings??

All to much for my little brain so will just live with it. It was driving me nuts trying to find out what meant, I thought it was an acronym for something lol.

Magsvape I created the Proboards colour theme to be fairly basic & it's mainly meant for folks that don't like all the large smilies so they don't show when using that theme. In fact the smilies on that theme are mainly just the standard Proboards ones.

So I'm puzzled as to why changing your browser makes the smiley now show up

Try changing your theme to the one called Default.

Me too !! Been trying to work out what the letters stand for !!

Chrissie thanks the 'default' setting works and I can now see loads of brilliant smileys - but need to get used to the change in scheme.    It is strange though as I could see some of the others in posts before but wasn't able to use them as they didn't show in my drop down list.

Yes the default theme Is very different to the Proboards one

And I think the reason you could see some of the other smilies is due to the fact that at one time I had to host every smilie & some of them are still via links rather than the more recent uploaded ones.
