Hi everyone, I thought I'd share my spreadsheet I'm using to track my money saved vaping. I made it today to convince the Mrs that no matter how much comes through the letterbox, I'm still in the black over the ciggies. Seems to have worked so there might be a vamo on the list shortly! I'm 87 days in and have saved over £250! That's with a fair few bad buys and binned liquids too so I'm pretty happy! Anyway, if you want to use it, just fill in the date you started vaping, how much your cig's used to cost per pack, how many were in the pack (10/20) and how many you smoked per day. Fill in your vaping purchases (truthfully...) and let it work out your savings (or overspend ) for you. I've uploaded a blank one and my own personal one so you can see what it looks like. MineBlank
Cheers, John Edit: The password to unprotect the cells is vapeandsave

Nice. Mine isn't quite as polished as yours admittedly, but I still like it, lol. But here it is for comparison. Obviously works on a similar principle, but once you have put in the vital data (quit date, smokes per day, price per smoke etc...), it displays the vital info over a few locked rows, so it doesn't matter how far down the spreadsheet you are, you will always see the most important info. I also made it so that I can link straight to the supplier with hyper-links, and can total prices, including shipping and discounts (and codes used for discounts where I remember them), in the currency used to pay for them, then convert the total amount into what I actually paid for them using the exchange rate I was given. Just for complete accuracy. Vaping spreadsheetOf course, it's still got my data in there, so you can all see how everything was done, but you can just delete the data if you want to use it. And I guess I need to update it. Missing all of Septembers purchases, and my sales of evods and heads. Oops...

Nice xs2man, I like it £8 a pack for fags It's scandalous that they can get away with charging so much! Think I'll nick the locked cells at the top, and the links to suppliers. (That might tempt me to buy more shiny stuff though!)

Yeah, the locked cells are a nice touch. Helps you see when the list gets longer. Once you get down to row 300 or so it would be a right pain scrolling all the way back up, lol.
Yeah, the vendors bit works both ways. It reminds you where you picked up some bargains, but then can promote extra spending.
£8 per pack is scandalous. It's not strictly true either. My preferred smokes are Benson & Hedges, and they are around 8 quid a pop in Asda. But I travel a lot for work, mostly in Norway, so often pick up real duty free, not just eu pricing. Then when I buy I uk I buy 200 a time from costco, and more likely Richmond. So closer to £6 a pack.
But it makes me feel better. And it's too difficult to accurately calculate what I would have actually spent.

Those are a really good idea. I don't have a spreadsheet yet but do have a page in the back of my diary with all my vape spends itemised per month. And my signature banner shows my saving. I do find it a good incentive to see how much I'm saving, and even though I don't feel rich, I'm not feeling the pinch anywhere near as much as I was when I was chucking away money on the stinkies. But I should sort out a spreadsheet for it all. I like the way xs2man has all the links in, and flavours listed, and the top boxes scroll down with you. Very easy to follow.

I kept an accurate spreadsheet for the first year and saved £3000 on non-bought fags. However the bank balance disagreed with that figure, saying I had saved a lot more. When I thought about it, this was true because every day when I went into the shop to buy my 40 super king, I invariably bought other stuff. Now that I was no longer in the shop every day, I was saving on all the rubbish I had been buying as well. Smoking cigarettes develops its own lifestyle and when you stop smoking, that lifestyle changes as well. I guess vaping too has a lifestyle of its own, basically an online one where we can go and buy, only what we need and are not tempted by other things on the webpages. Well not me anyways. I cannot speak for others!!!!!!

So true lobey (btw what does your username actually mean?) re all the extra buys, but unfortunately I DO get tempted by things on the page! My biggest downfall (and yes I know I am playing right into their hands) is when a site offers free postage over a certain amount. If I am near that number I will invariably buy something to get me over the barrier even if it is more expensive than postage would have been....but at least I have something to show for the money....right?? (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! (Sorry have gone totally off topic!)

Hi Ratfinkz (btw what does your username actually mean?) A "Lobey Dosser" is a drunk that goes to sleep in a hallway. In Glasgow a Lobey is a hall in a house and a Dosser is one who sleeps rough. As an (ex) alcoholic, I have been known to get in the front door but not make it all the way to the bedroom!!!! However I took my name from a cartoon character that used to appear in an old Glasgow Newspaper. Lobey Dosser is such a well known figure in Glasgow culture that there is even a bronze statue of him there, complete with his arch enemy Rank Badyin and his 2 legged horse, El Fideldo. You can read all about him here;- www.netsavvy.co.uk/lobey/toc.htm
