I have been playing about with my Igo W today and have coiled it around 10 times with various different configurations.
As soon as I got this I wacked a dual coil in it and thought yeah this is good. But today just a single coil at 1.4ohms and it vapes better imho.
Now my thought process is simple, dual coils for sub ohm maybe? I have no plans for sub ohm. Or is it because people want there coils to look cool?
Im open to any hints or tricks that I may be missing out on.

In my limited experience dual coils mean that you can crank a higher voltage through a 'lower resistance' coil to produce much more vapour since the voltage is split across the 2 coils. In effect a 1.5 ohm dual coil is 2x 3ohm coils meaning you can put more voltage through it than you could with a single 1.5ohm coil without risking damaging the coil. This is also the reason it is safer to sub ohm vape with dual coils, less chance of it shorting. Buuuut that's just from what I have read I may be grossly misinformed so don't take it as gospel

You have a greater area of wick exposed to coils and that allows your chamber to fill much more quickly. Dual coils really come into their own at sub ohm. Personally, I have no requirement for them and I prefer the vape from a single 1.7-2.2ohm coil with a regulated device. You don't know till you try though mate

Thats good to know, because this single coil is vaping a treat, it feels a whole lot better

Yeah dual coils really shine at sub ohm.
What device you using it on?

Everytime I wrap a dual coil for my mechs, I try to stay sub ohm because it just performs so much better, although you need a lot of air flow and safe batteries

Imo the trident (or any dual coil dripper with good air flow) is at its best at 0.7 ohm (dual coil) but I personally have had enough of dripping and much prefer a tank besides I can run dual coils in my Hercules or Kraken.

I guess it's a matter of taste, but I much prefer my Ithaka in dual coil mode. It increases the throat hit which I find very satisfying. However I tried the Kayfun with dual coils and I much prefer it single coiled - so I guess it does depend on the atomiser you're using. I'm guessing the Kayfun was designed for single coil, whereas the Ithaka was definitely designed with dual coiling in mind. It's worth trying both modes though to see which you prefer. There is no 'right' way - just whatever suits you
