Right. Time to pick your brains again. As some of you know I got myself an igo w, I made one single coil, which worked fine for a while Last night I decided to have a go at the double coils, made two coils, stuck them in, tightened up screws and broke one of the coils off, oh well, try with just the one again. Stuck it on my zmax and read ohms at 1.6. Happy with that. so, thought I would check for hotspots and set zmax to 3 volts and 3 watts, pushed button and nice glow, that's when it all went pear shaped. Released button after about .5 of a second but there was still steam coming, or so I thought, it was actually smoke as the the wick continued to burn, it burned completely in half. So what did I do wrong? I have watched all YouTube videos I can find and read and reread Romelee thread. At a bit of a loss using 0.2 kanthal wire with 1.5 cotton wick both from vaper train if that makes any difference all help gratefully received cheers & ta

davyccongratulations, sounds like you found your "hotspot" almost certain you had a short that caused the failure of your coils. just have to try again, rule 1 I always follow is the best way to initialy check a coil is with "Mark 1 Eyeball". if needs be use a magnifier against a white background.

If you're using cotton then that's where your problem lies- you can't dry burn cotton!

Oops misread the thread, thought coil had snapped in two..... Note to self must read threads properly before jumping in.
