My personal experience of cigalikes was good. My wife, my daughter and myself managed to quit smoking using jacvapours cigalikes for 4 months before switching to evods
But the fact that the cheap and nasty cigalikes you can pick up from garages and local stores for a couple of pound are giving the industry a bad name. some people brand all ecigs with the same stigma of their experience of cheap and nasty ones they have bought and tried in the past.
Even watching the programs recently on THIS MORNING and THE ONE SHOW they both chatted about ecigs and had a cigalike in their hand as if thats what all this is about, even mentioning the flashing blue light on the end, of course better ecigs dont have flashing lights and dont try to look like a cigarette so people confusing say a protank on a vamo certainly wont confuse it with a real cigarette and think "HEY!!! he/she is smoking!!!"
so good and bad, i just hope that those who have tried the pants ones realise that there is more for an ecig to offer them and evods/mods/whatever come to the forefront and not hide in the background so more people can experience and enjoy vaping and get off the smellies

Went Cold Turkey for a long time, then discovered Nicolites. I had already given up, but they really helped me stop missing the dreaded habit. I can't knock them, they helped me way too much. Now, I am in Mod Heaven, but I will always remember what got me there. Jag. (Rocking the American Red this morning .....)

I started with cigalikes in March this year but still needed 4 fags daily (morning, last thing at night, & after eating twice daily) it got harder as time went on i was constantly thinking of my next fag, this went on for 6 weeks & i got so fed up of feeling like that + had a bit of stress i packed cigalikes in & started smoking again for 2 weeks. I then stumbled accross this great forum & through help & advice of the lovely, friendly peeps on here i got the Riva 1100 & stronger juice & have not wanted a fag since May 20th. I think the cigalikes are helpful in the way that they will initially cut you down/stop the fags but are not good for long term vaping.

You rarely see cig-a-likes here, because they can only sell 0nic ones. I regularly see people with ego/CE4 type devices when out and about. Cig-a-likes are therefore not a necessary first step at all.
I'm pretty certain that word of mouth is the main driving force behind vaping here. We get a lot of negative press here, just like the rest of Europe, most of it is basically translated articles from other European newspapers. It isn't putting people off however even though analogues cost less than £5 a pack, and nicotine has to be bought from another country.

Hi, I started on cigalikes and stuck with them for 6 months before moving up to a 510/ego setup. The biggest complaint I have with the cigalikes is that the vendor I use insists online and in emails to me when I place my orders that the cartomisers are NOT refillable. If I stuck to their instructions I would have spent more on ecigs than baccy. Thankfully I discovered this forum and watched some videos on Utube and cut my expenses by a huge amount. Phil
