Although "almost" in the Central Belt, we come under Highland NHS but I filled in their survey anyway and also volunteered for their Focus Group.
Time will tell.

I've commented and volunteered for the focus group. Got rather irate as the land which Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is built on is part of the "Freedom Lands" gifted to the citizens of Aberdeen - I'm a citizen, I've contributed to various funding appeals over the years to purchase equipment for the hospitals (as did thousands of other Aberdonians) and they can #### right off if they want ME to stop using my e-cig on land given to ME and every other citizen of Aberdeen.
Managed not to swear but was rather scathing about their suggestions. Really concerned at the potential impact at Cornhill as well - folk in there are under enough stress without this being added to it.
Also seriously unchuffed at the ban on electronic cigarettes until medically regulated. And at the idea that all staff will be expected to enforce this ban - suggested that the folk thinking up this policy should be the ones wandering around the acres of open space telling folk to stop using e-cigs/toabcco.

Just spoke to D. Petrie. He said the survey has gone as he expected. Typical manager speak. I argued that nicotine was no worse than caffeine. He agreed but said it was the nicotine that got people addicted to the stinkies and if MHRA have their way you might not be able to get decent e-cigs in a couple of years. Also said there was nicotine in the vapour? Eh? Never heard that one and some rubbish about big tobacco funding e-cigs, sales of which then go to push real stinkies in the developing world? Eh? Go figure? I hear his concerns but I think they're based on phoney science by 'mr Big P' and stuff... Och and I have a bone to pick with some of you. We are going to win no arguments by being rude. Precise, clear and accurate - yes - not rude! So those of you who have been rude on this survey = meet my virtual wooden spoon! And I'm on the focus group starting in December as 'token' service user from RCH - though have been told not to hijack the debate completely from the analog users (in other words - best behaviour ) JAne

Hi @johanino, I have been an SNP Member all my life and I have lived in a country that had, at that time, a Nationalist Government. However, I do not agree with all their policies, nor would I necessarily vote Nationalist after Scotland won its Independence, but as for "pulling the wool, etc etc" I think Westminster has being making an excellent job of that over Scotland, Wales and N.I for a few hundred years now.

Just spoken to DP...he said the survey came out anti e-cigs ...pants...and as for the focus group...he's trying to get me on there but the person organising it said initially it was just for staff. Basically his hands are tied by NHS who worship big pharma.....that's the standard attitude in NHS jobsworth. I feel we are fighting a losing battle but if I'm in the psych unit and I get any e-cig wet and it dies through their numpty attitude I shall be seeking some sort of legal advice...I think that's all we can do....and what about my rights not having to inhale cig smoke? exactly......I need to make a map of toilets methinks in nHS grampian LOL
