Doing a load at once is definately the key; by the time you've got tools out supplies out, set up your working area doing one just does not make sense. Once I'm all set up I can do one in under 3 minutes. Deffo to this, doing one at a time is a pain, wait for them to build up and do them all in one hit

Yup, same here. But instead of cutting my wick to roughly the size I need, I multiply up by the number I'm making. Coil where I need on th strand then when all coiled, cut to size. I'm a lazy bugger, anything to make life easy.

Was doing mine with silica but not getting on with them, yesterday tried cotton wool, makes hell of a difference to taste, TH. It's also easier, make the coil then feed twisted cotton wool through when coil in situ, no shorts (well not many).
