evod coil question

Hi, ok so I bought an ecig case the other day and the bloke had evod coils at a really cheap price so I bought one, ( thought I'd try it first). I've compared it to the kanger ones I have and the centre post is quite a bit shorter and tastes burnt. Am I doing something wrong or should I avoid them, only lost £1 so no big deal

Did you allow the wick to sit for a while after you filled Up? Needs to soak for a couple of mins.

I actually had the opposite!

The first Evods I bought had heads with a really short centre post, but the replacement ones I bought from ecigwizard at the weekend have a much longer post. Can't say I've noticed any difference in them really though.

I filled the tank last night and I couldn't taste the juice so left it over night

The matter of post height is coincidential, sounds like a crap wick, just recoil/rewick and awy you go.

Post length should not make a difference.

I sounds like you bought a "duff" head, you could re-coil it to get it going.

Main reasons for the burnt taste could coil is to tight, but if that is a new cool I would be surprised. Sometimes you just get unlucky and get a bad head.
Not sure if you have attempted recoiling yet, but could be a good candidate for a go, you have nothing to lose!

Reconciling scares me a little to be honest . I also noticed the draw was a little tighter, but I've been using a mini pro tank so could be that as well.

onetwothree, Deffo sounds to be a bad atty, if the draw is tight.
as for recoiling etc., it's a doddle honest.various Youtube vids available and if you do get stuck, Romelee has done a basic Jack and Jill
post in the how and why of recoiling. (still on forum and pinned.)

That's a really good thread thanks, maybe I should start saving my used coils. Wish I'd not been so tight and bought a couple to compare

Recoiling these things is a work of art but not impossible and far easier than burning who knows what with mesh...

Get a box of pins from your local sewing shop. you'll need them...

That and a pair of nail clippers (just cheap ones) and da dah - you'll be recoiling...

Re the above the nail clippers, I prefer the clipper type rather than the scissor type if that makes sense, you get equal pressure across the whole blade rather than with scissors where it works upwards
(I hope that makes sense, I know what I mean lol)
And it is a doddle, in a nutshell, cut a length of silica, cut some wire wrap it round. Dont be stingy, it's easier to work with if you have a but more, say 4cm of wick and 6-7cm wire. As you get more proficient you can reduce and we are always here to help

I am using some cheap replacement heads at the moment. They are very poor in all honesty. I bought them as spares/back-up. Over the next few days, I shall swap them all over for new Kanger ones that just arrived in the mail.

I can't be bothered with doing my own. By the time I'd perfected it and worked out the many possible problems I'd already wasted far too much of my life. I can see the attraction though....especially if you can do a load in one go.

Doing a load at once is definately the key; by the time you've got tools out supplies out, set up your working area doing one just does not make sense. Once I'm all set up I can do one in under 3 minutes.
