Having been recoiling now for about 6 months, been getting that rubber burning taste on some new recoils, I have read most of the suggestions on here and will give them a try but if you use Res/non Res wire and zap them together using one of mevs mods zappers, would that stop the burning taste issue with using Res/non Res wire.

Yes & no.
Depends if its the rubber grommet burning or the impurities/grease from your hands that is making the coils taste "funky".
I cannot stress enough the need to wash you hands before coiling and flaming the wick & wire, this will greatly reduce any funny flavours.

I always wear disposable rubber gloves and flame everything, its clearly the bottom legs burning the rubber gromit, would using Res/non Res wire stop this.

Yes, or you could simply double up the resistance wire on the legs only, as thicker wire will not heat up as much, simply bend it over and twist it together, leaving the coil as one strand.

I managed to get rid of the taste by using a higher guage wire and adding more wraps to achieve the same resistance. Keeps the heat down in the legs and gives a better vape. They also last longer as the heat is not all concentrated to one spot on the wick. Try some .25 and see if it works for you

Dude! You need to get the duster out! It's just my workbench at work. If the mrs can't get me to pick up a duster, my boss has no chance
