I finally got my hands on my protanks from focalecig today and I have to say I'm a bit peed off. If I very very carefully thread the tank onto my sigelei zmax v3 to the point it only just makes connection it fires. Now the wobble at this point is ridiculous I'm talking audible wobble. I can shake the v3 (not vigourously) to the point the tank becomes so loose it wont fire. Any tighter though and I get a "short" message displayed and occasionally "low load" whatever that means ? I'm having to use it so loose that putting it to my mouth I can inadvertantly tighten it ever so fractionally against my lip and guess what..... "short". I wasn't sure what an airy draw was but I'm feeling this might be airy at it's most extreme with it being so loose I could park a car under it. The beauty ring supplied doesnt help neither, if I put that on the v3 first the protank has no chance of making contact. I've tried the other tank and it's the same and I've tried different heads.
Argggghhhhhhh I've had a pants day and this is just finishing it off nicely. Listen carefully you might hear glass breaking and crunching as I pound them with a large hammer.

The beauty ring is for an ego battery - you shouldn't need to be using it on a zmax.
Its the heads on the protank that make the connection and on occasion these can be fiddly
Try the spare head that came in the box and see if you have the same issue
If not might be a raising the centre post fix but I reckon its probably the protank head
FWIW I have no issues with my (4) Protank I and II's on my Zmax mini
EDIT: must learn to read posts before replying - if you've tried different heads then the centre post might need easing up on the Zmax a bit.

dreamylittledream I'm not in a searching mood the day I've had, sorry not meaning to be abrupt on here I love this place and the members are superb, but alas I can't air it here. Is this just a case of teasing it up a little with long noses or the likes ? I'm assuming this will let me tighten the protank up a little more, not overtightening of course, but at least it might rid me of the noisy wobble ?

In a nutshell yes - just be very, very gentle
You can try teasing the protank heads connector out of the 510 thread a little which may help too.
Protanks should screw in pretty much flush on a zmax - mine do - which suggests one of your attys as depressed the centre post a bit too far
There shouldn't be any wobble...

Thank you dreamylittledream I'll give that a try tomorrow, tonight I'm just not going to have the patience and tbh thats unlike me according to most people I'm the most patient man they know. Perhaps I should just find a little bloke and have a fight Just a thought and I may be in idiot mode but if I raised the zmax's centre post wouldn't that make it easier for clearo's/tanks etc to push down against it pushing it back down ? My appologies if thats a really dumb thing to ask. Thanks again.

I don't know if this is any use at all but I've tried mini protanks, a mini davide, iclear 16's and smok pyrex somethings on the sigelei without any problem. I don't have a full size protank.

Most attys won't depress the centre post enough to make a problem but you get the odd rogue one that can cause a problem - hence the need to raise it. I found that an airflow controller tended to depress the centre post on my Vamo - I got tired of having to raise it if I didn't want to use the controller and so stopped using it and the issue went away...

Well I've teased the centre post up as much as I dare tease it, but it's still responding the same. Seems really weird that I'm having no such problem with the evods. I'll try the mini protank clone soon and report back.
