I just won £49 on the pubs bonus ball so more money for vape gear It also seems slightly ironic that a landlord would condone betting on the bonus ball (which is illegal) while banning vaping (which isn't).

The "prohibited" sign went up in my local Greene King last week. A fair few of the hardcore regulars are vapers too. We could boycott the place but I doubt if anyone would care. Nowhere else close by allows vaping either.

Nowhere else close by allows vaping either. That's a damn shame taz96. I reckon we should at least try to engage with @greeneking on Twitter to find out why they think it's necessary to ban vaping.

I think it's well worth perusing the chains that have introduced a ban, I suspect they have gone with banning purely because they were asked To come up with a policy and without any information to base a decision Upon it looks like the obvious answer. The answer they would expect not To be asked to justify............... Make them justify their decisions and then follow up their responses and Point out why they are just plain wrong. The vaping community took on the politicians and educated them, now we Need to take on business in exactly the same way.

At the end of the day if a pub wants to ban vaping on their premises they can even if you try an educate them the policy is set by the brewery not the actual landlord ,there will be a lot more banning the use of ecig on their premises. If i go to a pub or restaurant that has banned ecigs i go out side and use mine its no big deal is it ? you don't have to stand right next to the person who is smoking

So accepting small scale bans is helping our cause with universal global bans? Most will have been imposed by someone with absolute no understanding And sitting in an air conditioned office, mostly they will have reached the Decision based upon the notion of the path of least resistance. It would be useful to try and educate the decision makers that vaping is Harmful to no one and possibly of benefit to their businesses, especially When their competitors are actively closing the door on an opportunity To attract more custom. What I am most definitely against is haranguing bar staff of managers When they have no control of such policies.

I know what you are saying markm but if a government want to ban ecigs they will no matter what. look at all the tax they are losing by people who used to smoke , the government don't want us to give up smoking but they got to pretend they do, nice tax earner from smokers they plough millions in to the system so banning ecigs all together will make a lot of people turn back to cigs

I know it won't change matters and more pubs will ban it but it is important to educate people. Don't really have much choice when its heavy rain and a tiny covered area for smokers. I haven't been in the pub since to see if the signs are up yet

The landlady at my local Green King is fine with it so i doubt it's a brewery decision.

That's interesting ant. I will try to find out a bit more in my local of I can, although I wouldn't like to guess which of the staff would know or tell the truth on this one.

I was at a Weatherspoons in Leeds and they had banned them only because over a busy crowd they could not tell the difference, and some regulars were taking the mick.
Personally I like to go outside for a vape as I have always preferred to smoke outside even before they banned smoking in public places, smokers just seem to be my kind off people Now I am on a one man mission to convert them to vapers. The downside is ten years from now I may be standing outside on my own LOL

Just spoke to the pub I heard had banned them, the landlord says he has banned it because its smoking and I corrected him by saying its not. He said its because its the nicotine in them. He won't be putting signs as it comes under the smoking ban. Will be giving him some info about them.He didn't appreciate my opinion at all

If they are so against the use of nicotine are they also banning the use of nicotine patches or nicotine gum in those pubs in England then?
