Hi,
I have smoked 20 B&H a day for around 15 years and then about a month ago I tried a disposable e cigarette from one of the supermarkets and could not believe how good it was. Since then I have started using skycigs and have completely stopped smoking cigarettes. The only problem is I am using loads of refills and it is really quite expensive, are there any similar cigarette type e cigarettes that are cheaper to use? I know there are lots of different types of e cigarettes, but I just want to use something thats simple and that I can use at work.
Thanks. Sam

samw - should also have said, you'll not really get much mileage out of anything that is cigarette sized

The refills that you speak of (cartomiser) can be refilled by yourself many, many times .... simply insert a pin or a fine screwnail into the air hole at the mouth end and prise out the little plastic insert. Inside you will see an air tube surrounded by fibre wadding. Carefully add eliquid to the fibre wadding a few drops at a time, being careful to avoid getting any into the air tube. After around 35 - 40 drops, the fibre filling should be saturated. Re-insert the plastic end cap and vape away at a fraction of the price of a new cartomiserl.

Hi samw, Welcome Skycigs are expensive. Half the price of my least favourite brand (E-Lites) - but still expensive. These little e-cigarettes (look-a-likes, cig-a-likes) are generally many more times expensive than strictly necessary. If you really feel the need to stick with them, I expect we can help you save on your current budget. Just to give you an idea, I spend less than 80p a day on e-liquid to fill up my clear tanks (clearomisers). That's 1.5-2.0ml per day. Yearly cost = £292.00 E-lites = £2,190. Skycig = £1,199. Takes some believing.

Hi samw and welcome to the forum - glad you are asking away! I have been fortunate in not ever having used a cig-a-like, but I have read here many times just how expensive they are compared to some other much more punchy and cost-effective options. Have a look at some of the big vendors HERE and see just what is available. The beginners guide that giles has compiled is an excellent introduction to vaping, and will give you many answers to questions that you hadn't even thought of! My suggestion would be to look at www.myepack.co.uk and see what you can find there. Perpetua has already linked to the Evod starter kit, and there is also an excellent Mini Protank kit, or the Protank kit (larger tank, but only one battery - you need a spare to charge while you use the other). These might seem expensive, but compare the price with the cost of using Skycigs and offset this against the money you would have spent weekly on tobacco products, and you will see that they are reasonably priced. I should add that I have no affiliation with Myepack, I'm just a very satisfied customer.

Get a Riva 1100 Deluxe kit, you will save the money spent on it within a month. Jag. (I seem to remember I did it that way.)

Hi Everyone.
Thanks for all your advice.
I would not really be comfortable using some of the more advanced types or refilling liquid, especially when I am at work. I am just looking for something like skycig but cheaper.

samw, I'm a week on from 1st attempt on skycigs, have 2 kits & tons of cartomisers that I found OK for emergency use (non smoking hotels and when trapped on train/in venues) but it didn't make me want to quit or feel satisfied as an option. But saying that, my best friend who introduced me to them, has happily quit but even she is bemoaning the general running costs... Last week I tried an ego starter kit - with liquid and found it far simpler and more satisfying. I've gone from a 30 a day smoker to a brand new vaper'er (without wall climbing and irrational cravings) I know some of the thread chat ( mod section etc) seems scary and confusing but its not so grim. Its taken me a few days reading to get a reasonable picture of what equipment may suit me. My pal whos a year in using skycigs is agog and dying to know more about what I'm trying out because she says e-cigarettes (sky + wicked cartomisers) costs her £5 a day, by my reckoning an cigar type ego setup will cost me less than £5 a week!

This kit is seriously good value for money, and with 5 clearomisers, if you learn how to look after them properly will last you for a long time. paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/i-taste-vv-v30-kit-p-586.htmlThis vendor also does e-liquid. I have not tried any of them, but I have heard people on here say that it is good
