New to this, I was on 20+ per day. I have Socialites since buying a starter-kit in a shopping mall on 8 October (I've since bought more) and my last "real" cig was on 13 October.
Cig-alikes work for me, but I'm wondering if any others are better value than Socialites. Also wondering if any other cartomisers are compatible with their batteries. Thanks.

Well I looked at their UK website and it seems to be an absolute rip-off. 40 fags from 1 carto, 20 fags from 1 battery - do they think we came in on a turnip cart? And 5 for £9.99? Get real!! Read all the info in your welcome PM, and get yourself a riva or evod or mini protank kit to really start saving money. If you really do want good advice, your in the right place though

Thanks for the welcome, Fred and Romelee. I appreciate your advising me so quickly. All the things you mention, seem to be "fill-it-yourself" arrangements, which I've never tried. I think one of the winning features of the e-cig is the ease of using it - just screw the 2 parts together and puff away! It's a lot less hassle than smoking. No need for a light, no ash, no end to dispose of, no need to smoke a "whole" cig to avoid waste. I fear that if I had to fill them, it would become too demanding or complicated and I'd be more likely to revert to smoking . Having got this far (10 days of absolutely no smoking after decades of addiction on 20+ per day) I'd prefer to stay with what works - for the time being anyway - in the hope that I might get weaned off them completely. So if there's anyone who can share any knowledge about best-value cig-alikes (if any) or other cartomisers that are compatible with socialites battery, I'd be really grateful.

I'd read about this forum being helpful, and it's all true. Thanks.
The video was informative but confirms what I feared, that re-filling is just too fiddly for me. I even tried to take the cover off a used carto - it wouldn't budge.
So I'm grateful for all the info, especially about the compatible cartos from cartomizerworld. I'll give those a try .

silkcutoff - welcome to the forum and well done on getting smoke-free. Please understand that filling a clearomiser is FAR less fiddly than filling a cartomiser. With luck you'll be filling once a day, and after a few fills, it will take you no longer than getting a fag out of the packet, finding your lighter, and lighting it (God, that all sounds so alien as I type it, and yet it was commonplace an action to me in the past!). More than anything else though, you will save a considerable sum of money by switching to something like a Mini Protank or Evod kit. They are hassle-free, and you will quickly settle down to a weekly expenditure of about £6-8 which I was shocked to learn the other day is now LESS than a packet of 20 B & H!! The initial learning curve will be so gentle as you are now a member of this fine forum - remember we have all been where you are now, and would have welcomed the information you are receiving to guide you to the most satisfying and cheapest replacement for the dreaded tobacco. Please have a good watch of some YouTube videos and see just how easy filling a clearomiser or Protank is, and how easy it is to change an atomiser head which last between 1 and 2 weeks depending on your vaping pattern and the type of juice you are using. Read the information in your welcome PM, and have a good look at the links that our very own Vape God Super-Shiny has already posted for you, and you will soon realise how naff these cig-a-likes are, and also how comparatively expensive they are to run. Please ask questions, debate merits and disadvantages with us, and generally inform yourself, and we look forward to being able to help you some more!

New to this, I was on 20+ per day. I have Socialites since buying a starter-kit in a shopping mall on 8 October (I've since bought more) and my last "real" cig was on 13 October. Welcome to AAEC silkcutoff. I guess you are using the nicotine socialites? If they work for you, well done, nice job. Clearly, they are unnecessarily expensive. Also, sooner or later you will need new batteries, then the money machine really starts ticking over. If you like the ease of use and find the whole experience good enough, then plan to get a new sort of kit in advance. I would suggest getting a kit that uses 510 battery fittings, then you can buy prefilled cartomizers at a better price. - - - - - - - - - I have recommended this to someone just recently www.ivapour-elixir.co.uk/e-cig/510-bottom-coil-kits/510-bottom-coil-set-auto.htmland told him to get refills from here www.cavecom.com/screwdriverSD/shopSD/cartomisers.shtmlI don't expect the kit is the "tops" but it'll be better than most of the white plastic battery brands that exist just to make millions of pounds. The good things about buying something like this is that you can add any battery to it from 3" to the size of a banana.

If you really want to stick with cigalikes then Jacvapours kit is compatible with Socialites (808 threading) and the cartos come apart somewhat more easily. But really its very easy for us to post links at you but honestly, honestly, honestly pick up any variation of an ego battery and any clearomiser (although not a CE4 - trust me on this on - go for the evod) and some juice and you'll find there is a whole other world there. One of these myepack.co.uk/kits/mini-protank-kit.htmland some juice from here www.joosejuice.co.uk/It'll probably cost you £30 - but honestly it'll be amongst the better £30 you will even spend. You won't have a problem filling it up - it really couldn't be easier. There's a reason why we rant when newbies arrive using kit from the players in main stream shops/shopping malls - it will be so much easier if you try this. Put this another way - we had a stop smoking group at work - all but 3 members ended up trying a variation on the ego kit I have just posted (that would be due to me) - of the 3 that didn't one is still off through will power - the others are back smoking. Everyone on the ego kit is still smoke free some months later...
