Ekowool in Protank

I did rebuild the Kanger Protank with Ekowool for about 3 times now. First coil I used 2mm  and 1mm on top then I used 1.5 mm and 1.5 on top and now I did used two wraps of 1.5mm and get it to 2 ohm. The thing I see in Ekowool is that I cannot increase as much Watts  as when I used to coil with the silica wick as it will start tasting burning. Is this normal with ekowool or I'm doing something wrong?

Hi melitahams, I've never used Ekowool so can't help but I'm sure someone who has will be along to advise soon!

melitahams slide this through the center of the Ekowool and do tightish wraps with 0.2 Kanthal (if you have some) keep the coils nice and evenly spaced out and it should work out fine, The only difference i have experienced with silica and ekowool is that ekowool wicks better and holds juice better.

I did used a needle Romelee maybe it's too thin I will try  something thicker then. The ekowool I have is in 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm shall I use the 2 mm and then I put a piece of 1 mm on top?

1st: Heat up the 0.2 Kanthal till glowing red to burn of any impurities.
2nd: Cut of a piece of 2mm Ekowool and push through the center a 1mm pin like above
3rd: Wrap the 0.2 Kanthal (5 wraps for me) quite tight around the Ekowool
4th: Fit and assemble into the head
5th: Test on my device and pulse the head about 4-5 times for about 2-3 seconds each time, this for me burns of any impurities of the wick
6th: Optional but i do it anyway, place two strands of 2mm silica wicks (not 2 wicks) on top of the already built wick/coil

Fit all together and it's good to go, just make sure you let the wicks get soaked in juice before trying to use it.

 Done exactly what you told me Romelee  and now I can go up to 7  watts and guess by tomorrow I can raise a bit more It taste even much better than before. I guess I was making the coil too tight as the needle was too thin. Your a genius Romelee.THANKS

I agree with you all, Romelee is one of the nice man ever not to forget others as well ,he helps most of us in here and he always hit the nail on its head.
