Firstly crocus (slipped disc in the summer - has tumours - 18 months - lovely intelligent rattie) popped from the hanging house (more like fell) head first onto the middle level (a good foot if not longer)….think she has some sort of concussion though was fine in the hamster cage (put her back with the other two) and now is just sitting there on the remains of the cardboard box she chewed to bits last night really not looking herself and being groomed (by Constance one of the others )…..vet or no? She has lost weight due to the tumours but was very lively in the hamster cage
And then I should be adopting another rat tomorrow or friday. Female - can't recall how old? Names? Maybe Samphire (as in the edible seaweed) or periwinkle?
Any help appreciated
Jane

I would play safe Jane and take her to the vet .. could be that the injured spine has been further damaged.

Im with freefromsmoking ,id take her to the vet. If one of my dogs starts grooming the other i usually find a scratch or some other reason for the sibling grooming(they also do it if ones not feeling too well). Names:im a big fan of samphire but never really thought of it as a name ; but it works so thats my vote

Poor Crocus. I'd keep an eye on her tonight and if she isn't back to normal first thing, get her to the vet.
Good luck with your new rattie too. You need to post some pics of your little tribe!

Rattie came last night. Was a toss up between Samphire and periwinkle for names. She is Periwinkle and settling in nicely. I forgot how lively young rats are though and last night whilst she was trying to get her bearings she had a fight with crocus. Crocus bopped down a level to get away from her. Peri couldn't see where she'd gone and her face was a picture LOL...just kept looking sad down the opening I love ratties
